The Circle of Galaxies was a type of sculptural award. It was a pedestal supporting a crystal globe of Earth. On the pedestal, these words were engraved, "The whole of humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins, not just to tolerate but to take delight in the differences."
In 2375, Captain Jean-Luc Picard was recognized for his qualities as a mature Human with this award. It was later stored in Picard's section of the quantum archive at the Starfleet Archive Museum. (PIC: "Remembrance")
The award was one of the props displayed at Comic Con's exhibit Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty in the summer of 2019. [1] [2] The text is a paraphrase of a quote by Gene Roddenberry, which was "The whole show was an attempt to say that humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins not just to tolerate, but to take a special delight in differences of ideas, and differences in life-forms".
