(written from a Production point of view)
Star Trek: The Deadly Years was an adaptation of stills taken from the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "The Deadly Years" into a photonovel, and the eleventh release in the series. The book featured a cast list for the episode.
Like the previous four outings in the series, no internationally translated edition is known to exist.
- From the back cover
- A deadly phenomenon…Young people are dying from old age! Kirk must solve the mystery or the Enterprise crew will perish!!!
- The authentic re-creation of a mysterious voyage of the starship Enterprise…Over 300 action photographs from the episode The Deadly Years…in the television series created by Gene Roddenberry.
- Exports to the UK had the British prices – either 95p or £1.25/1.50 – stamped on the back cover.
- While it was conceivably unlicensed, the 1980 Indonesian Tahun-Tahun maut edition is the last known internationally translated edition. Contrary to all the other versions though, it was executed in black and white instead of full color. The Indonesian releases had their origins in the efforts Dutch comic publishers had undertaken in the late-1970s/early-1980s to introduce their former colony to the phenomenon of the European comic.
