Riker – The enemy of my enemy!

Summary

Riker meets Ro Laren and asks to join the Maquis. Data becomes first officer of the USS Enterprise-E. Ro and Riker, with the help of some Klingons, raid Starfleet for information on the Genesis Device, which is taken by the Klingons.

This story takes place sometime after Star Trek: First Contact, as mention of Riker's second battle with Borg is made, and Data becomes first officer of the USS Enterprise-E.
This was a one-shot special.
The story references past Star Trek stories, including TNG: "Second Chances", DS9: "Defiant", TNG: "Heart of Glory", Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
Jonathan Frakes gave artist Andrew Currie his seal of approval on the likeness of William T. Riker and was going to contribute a foreword/introduction to the book, but was too busy with the filming of Star Trek: Insurrection at the time. [1]
