The Festoon was a starship that was personally owned by the arms dealer Baron Grimes during the 2250s.
In 2256, The Festoon carried Baron Grimes and his daughter, Stella, to a rendezvous with the USS Discovery, where they collected Stella's rogue fiancé, Harcourt Fenton Mudd, before departing. (DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")
The name of this ship was revealed at the Discovery designer panel at the 2018 Fan Expo Canada in Toronto. The ship designers were directed that this ship should be Trumpian, with it being a "over-the-top, big, ridiculous super yacht". [1] The Festoon is 388.26 meters long, as was established in October 2019 by the ship's designer, Ryan Dening. [2]
