- As mentioned in dialog, this episode marks the first time that Jean-Luc Picard has set foot onto a Borg cube since TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II".
- This is the first time that an android's dreams are realized onscreen since TNG: "Phantasms". In both cases, the dream is a crucial plot element, and both episodes feature an outsider entering and influencing the dream in order to manipulate it and extract important information.
