Thomas Griep is a musician and conductor who appeared as a Klingon musician in the Star Trek: The Next Generation seventh season episode "Firstborn". He received no credit for this appearance.
Griep graduated with a degree in piano performance from the Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and with a degree in composition for film and television from the USC in Los Angeles, California. As a conductor he worked on shows such as "Mamma Mia" at the Shubert Theatre, "Big River" at the Mark Taper Forum, "Camelot" at the Hollywood Bowl, and "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. He also worked as conductor and pianist with artists and musicians including Carol Channing, Nathan Lane, Rita Moreno, Cher, Paul Anka, and Olivia Newton-John. [1]
As musician he appeared on screen in episodes of Remington Steele (starring Pierce Brosnan), Moonlighting, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Beauty and the Beast (starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman), Sweet Justice, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, and Fox After Breakfast. Film work includes the comedy Man Trouble (1992, with Michael McKean, Saul Rubinek, David Clennon, Gary Graham, Rob LaBelle, Raymond Cruz, and Ken Thorley) and Alien Nation: Millennium (1996, starring Gary Graham, Eric Pierpoint, Michele Scarabelli and Ron Fassler, with Brian Markinson, Herta Ware, Freda Foh Shen, and Kerrie Keane).
