Tiburon was an inhabited planet. A member of the United Federation of Planets, this was the homeworld for the Tiburonians, a warp-capable species.

History

In 2149, Doctor Phlox attended an IME conference on Tiburon, where he briefly met a member of the Mazarite delegation. Unknown to him at the time, this member was actually a Klingon expert in metagenic research, named Dr. Antaak. The Klingons were not invited to the conference. (ENT: "Affliction")

Zora was an infamous scientist on Tiburon, known for her cruel and inhumane experiments on humanoid subjects to test the body chemistry of subject tribes. (TOS: "The Savage Curtain")

Tiburon was the former home of Dr. Sevrin in the mid-23rd century, where he studied to become an expert in the fields of acoustics, electronics and communications. (TOS: "The Way to Eden")

T'Lor, a Tiburonian, served as a Starfleet science officer on Deep Space 9 in the early 2370s. He was killed by the Jem'Hadar on Torga IV. (DS9: "The Ship")

T'Lor was established in the script of "The Ship" to be a Tiburonian. [1]

According to the reference book The Worlds of the Federation, the star that Tiburon orbits was called Omega Fornacis A, and the Tiburonians refer to their world as Simeran. ^{(citation needed • edit)}

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 64) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography" pp. 28 & 30; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the planet Tiburon was located in the Tiburon (Omega Fornacis) system. This system was located in the Beta Quadrant. The primary was a B-class star. According to a map of the Klingon Empire – prepared by the Scribe K'Tark for the Klingon High Council in the Year of Kahless 893 (2366} – Tiburon was identified as a Klingon system. This claim was probably made for propanganda reasons, as Qo'noS claimed "many of the border worlds, such as Organia, that put it at odds with the Federation." In the late 24th century, it was an independent system.
