Toaster

B'Elanna Torres looks at a toaster

A toaster was an appliance used to toast slices of bread. About a generation after 2057, it became common to cover toasters with solar panels. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")

Despite the presence of food synthesizers and replicators, toasters apparently were still in use in the 23rd and 24th centuries.

In 2365, Captain Phillipa Louvois told Commander William T. Riker that if he refused to represent Commander Bruce Maddox in a hearing to determine whether the android Data was a sentient being or Starfleet property, she would rule summarily that Data was a toaster. (TNG: "The Measure Of A Man")

James T. Kirk's toaster

In the Nexus, James T. Kirk made toast with a toaster, as well as scrambled Ktarian eggs, for Antonia's breakfast. (Star Trek Generations)

In 2377, Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres had a toaster in their quarters on the USS Voyager. Paris, who was known for being fond of 20th century nostalgia, used it to make peanut butter toast, his "favorite gourmet breakfast." (VOY: "Lineage") Later that year, when Torres was returned to Voyager after being brainwashed by the Quarren, Neelix showed her around her quarters to help recover her stolen memories. The toaster was one of the items Torres looked at as she walked around the room. (VOY: "Workforce, Part II")

Captain Kathryn Janeway once referred to the replicator in her quarters as a "glorified toaster." She said it never forgave her. (VOY: "Shattered")

It could be combined with an oven in the form of the toaster oven. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
