Toms tongue

A tongue was a maneuverable muscle in a lifeform's mouth, used to aid in speech and eating. The tongue had taste buds for the latter one.

The Butterfly dancers of Rigel X had unusually long tongues, which allowed them to grab butterflies with them. (ENT: "Broken Bow")
