Torman V was the inhabited fifth planet in its star system. This system was close to the Federation-Cardassian border.

When Captain Picard, Dr. Crusher and Lieutenant Worf were on an undercover mission to Celtris III, they at first traveled to Torman V via the shuttlecraft Feynman; on Torman V, they hired the Ferengi smuggler DaiMon Solok to transport them further to Celtris III. (TNG: "Chain of Command, Part I")

Backgrond information

This planet's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of the Cardassian Union in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".

According to the script for "Chain of Command, Part I", the pronunciation for Torman was "TOR-man". It described the establishment visited there as "A small hole-in-the-wall bar (similar to the bar seen in ""Unification II"")."

The exterior view of Torman V was a matte painting re-used from the fifth season episode "The Masterpiece Society" where it was used to depict the Genome colony.

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 406), Torman V was a M-class planet.

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385") the primary of the Torman system was a binary system with a pair of A-class stars.
