A Scrubble totem
A totem was a natural object that was believed to have spiritual significance to a particular society. The totem was often represented by a small, carved statue.
In 2381, the Scrubble emissary presented Captains Carol Freeman and Maier with what he called "sacred Scrubble totem" as a gesture of friendship. However, Ensign D'Vana Tendi discovered that the totem was actually a listening device used to uncover Starfleet intelligence.
