Trelka V was the fifth planet of its star system, inside Cardassian space.
During the Dominion War, the Dominion operated a starbase on the planet's surface, manned by a garrison of ten thousand troops. The planet also had a Cardassian spacedock in orbit, with at least three Galor-class cruisers protecting the base.

Trelka V was the first target struck by General Martok's cavalry raid in 2375. For this mission, Martok took a small squadron consisting of five Birds-of-Prey – IKS Ch'Tang, IKS Orantho, IKS Ning'tao, IKS Malpara, and IKS Slivin.
Upon reaching the target, Martok sent the Ning'tao and Malpara ahead of the squadron to perform a single strafing run on the Trelka V base. The opening attack disabled two defense batteries and did moderate damage to the base's shields. After completing their attack, the two ships attempted to leave the star system. However, a Galor-class cruiser destroyed the Malpara, killing all aboard. While the Cardassians pursued the Ning'tao, the rest of Martok's squadron decloaked and attacked the base again, catching the station with its primary shields down as its personnel attempted to repair the base.
