The USS Cunningham (NCC-97949) was a Gagarin-class Federation starship in service to Starfleet during the early 25th century.

In 2401, the Cunningham was outside Sol Station when travel pod 05, carrying Captain William T. Riker and Admiral Jean-Luc Picard, was on route to the USS Titan. (PIC: "The Next Generation")

The name and registry of this ship was provided by Dave Blass. [1]
As several Gagarin-class ships are named for astronauts, the USS Cunningham is probably named for Apollo 7 lunar module pilot Walter Cunningham.
