This ship was named after 20th century aviator Amelia Earhart.
Preliminary sketches of the concept design of the Earhart bore the registry NCC-7237. (Star Trek: The Art of John Eaves, p. 192)
According to Star Trek: Shipyards - Starfleet Ships 2151-2293 (p. 189), the Earhart bore the registry NCC-1052.
