The USS Hoover was a Federation Hoover-class starship operated by Starfleet during the mid-23rd century.
In the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-57, this ship was on patrol duty in the same sector as the USS Gagarin and the USS Muroc when they were simultaneously ambushed and destroyed by Klingon warships.
