Personnel of the USS Potemkin.

Named[]

Unnamed[]

Nervala away team []

These crewmembers, led by William Riker, beamed down to Nervala station to evacuate it. They all returned to the Potemkin before Riker, who was unknowingly duplicated, said double remaining behind for 8 years and knowing nothing of his "brother"'s escape or life thereafter. (TNG: "Second Chances")

This away team was only mentioned in dialogue.

Senior staff []

According to Deanna Troi, Riker once told her that he learned poker so he could play at the officer's game on the Potemkin. When he added that he liked the game, she surmised that his senior officers might have believed he was trying to ingratiate himself to them, and said he was fortunate they realized he was young and inexperienced, and didn't hold a grudge against him. She used this fact to make a point about Riker's treatment of Sam Lavelle, who earlier had tried a similar tactic. (TNG: "Lower Decks")

These officers were only mentioned in dialogue.

Transporter chief []

The Potemkin's transporter chief was responsible for the transporter accident that caused the duplication of Will Riker in the form of Thomas Riker. He tried to compensate for a surge in the distortion field surrounding Nervala IV by initiating a second containment beam, with the apparent goal of re-integrating them in the transport buffer. It wasn't necessary, and he shut down the second beam. Unbeknownst to him, it reflected back to the planet's surface, creating the second Will Riker. (TNG: "Second Chances")

This character was only mentioned in dialogue.
