The ship's name was only seen briefly in Kwan's personnel file. It was most likely named for the USS Pueblo (AGER-2), a United States Navy Banner-class technical research ship on Earth named for Pueblo County, Colorado. The Pueblo was alledgedly collecting electronic signal intelligence off the coast of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) when it was boarded and captured on January 23, 1968. It is currently located in Pyongyang and remains the only commissioned US Navy vessel held captive in enemy hands.
