When the USS Discovery first found Federation Headquarters in 3189, at least two Merian-class starships supported the cloaking field. (DIS: "Die Trying")

A ship of this class was also visible on a diagram Fleet Admiral Charles Vance and Lieutenant Audrey Willa were examining when Captain Saru met with them. (DIS: "Scavengers")

Battle at Federation Headquarters[]

Two ships of this class were sustaining the Federation Headquarters cloaking field when Osyraa was able to enter it aboard Discovery. (DIS: "There Is A Tide...") Both later participated in the Battle at Federation Headquarters with Osyraa (commanding Discovery.) At least one was positioned at a safe distance when Discovery detonated their warp core to destroy the Viridian, and was positioned to welcome Discovery back to Federation Headquarters at the culmination of the battle. (DIS: "That Hope Is You, Part 2")
