These Teplans were the first people that Lieutenant Commander Dax, and Doctor Bashir came upon when they beamed down after intercepting a distress signal while on from their planet near the border of Dominion space. The Teplans all had blue welts on their face. Two of the Teplans were Ekoria and Epran. (DS9: "The Quickening")

Ekoria and Epran were played by Ellen Wheeler and Dylan Haggerty.

The other nine Teplans were played by unknown actors and actresses.

Teplan citizens in a city in ruins on the Teplan homeworld which was destroyed by Jem'Hadar due to the Teplan resistance against the Dominion. (DS9: "The Quickening")

Teplan Attendant

Teplan attendant

The Teplan attendant was a Teplan male who worked with Trevean. After Jadzia Dax and Julian Bashir brought Norva to Trevean's hospital, he told two other attendants to take her to Trevean, as she was in the last stages of the Teplan blight. The attendant told Bashir and Dax not to worry as they would take care of her. The attendant later tried to stop Bashir from helping a dying man, as he believed the man should be allowed to die. (DS9: "The Quickening")

The attendant was played by Loren Lester.

Ekoria's baby

Ekoria's baby was a male child conceived by Ekoria and her late husband, who died soon after.

The boy proved to be the savior of the Teplan race, as it was discovered that the antigen that Bashir had given to his mother had been absorbed by her placenta that stopped the baby from developing the Blight. His mother, Ekoria, died moments after he was born, but not without learning that he would live a normal and healthy life. (DS9: "The Quickening")

Ekoria's husband

Ekoria's husband was a male Teplan. He died in the winter before the team from Deep Space 9 arrived on the planet in late 2372. (DS9: "The Quickening")

Milani's baby was shown by Trevean to Dr. Bashir to show that children were born with the blight. (DS9: "The Quickening")
