Mariner noted this exchange to Brad Boimler when he asked if Mariner's girlfriend, Jennifer Sh'reyan, wore hats, after he viewed a nightmare version of a Jennifer as a werewolf wearing a fedora. Later, when Mariner was spreading rumors about Boimler and Rutherford to Honus, the bar manager again reprimanded him for not doing his job, after Honus neglected to get the limes that the manager had previously requested. (LD: "Mugato, Gumato")

A week after the issuance of the Temporal Edict, while still assigned to the sciences division, he was pushing an anti-grav sled through the cargo bay when he told Sam Rutherford "excuse me" after nearly running him over. After a Gelrakian boarding party invaded the ship, he was carrying a barrel in the cargo bay when he was tackled. Afterwards, he was in the transporter room, briefly wearing an operations division uniform, when he snapped his PADD across his knee after the Captain rescinded the edict. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
His uniform change was an apparent production error, several of which of this nature, appeared throughout the episode.
Later that year he was getting food from the replicator in the bar while D'Vana Tendi complained Sam Rutherford about messing up O'Connor's attempt at spiritual ascension. (LD: "Moist Vessel")
Boimler created a hologram of this officer using the past seven years of her personal logs for his program Boimler Seven. The code from the program was later used by Mariner to create Crisis Point: The Rise of Vindicta, where her hologram was among the crew beamed from the ship before it crash landed. In 2382, this seemingly male alien ensign appeared to give birth to his offspring during a fertility event in a multi-purpose room aboard the Cerritos. Captain Freeman, who attended the event, openly admitted she was unaware that the ensign was not human, to which the ensign admitted he "[got] that all the time." In addition, a seemingly female command division ensign of the same species - possibly his significant other - was present beside his bed. (LD: "Upper Decks")
This ensign was voiced by Phil LaMarr.
While he was not wearing a uniform, the episode's closed captioning revealed him to be an ensign.

In 2382, within a parallel dimension, an ensign aboard an alternate USS Cerritos was reprimanded by Captain Becky Freeman for having poor posture, prompting him to nervously apologize. (LD: "Dos Cerritos")

This male Human officer was in sickbay in late 2380 undergoing a crucial surgery on his chest and leg, performed by Doctor T'Ana when D'Vana Tendi was serving as Peanut Hamper's orientation liaison.
At a critical point in the surgery, which T'Ana described as "the messy part", she warned that "any slight error here can result in instant death." Peanut Hamper stepped in and performed what T'Ana described as "some of the best micro-suturing" that she had ever seen. When Tendi offered to work on the leg, but T'Ana wanted her to hang back as Peanut Hamper performed a new skin graft technique she had been developing for melding flesh. (LD: "No Small Parts")
