This female welcomed James T. Kirk and Spock to the Vedala asteroid and introduced them to the other specialists assembled there to retrieve the Soul of the Skorr, then proceeded to explain the nature of their mission.
Later, she thanked them for their service, explaining that Tchar would be healed rather than punished. (TAS: "The Jihad")
This female was voiced by Jane Webb.
According to the script, she was simply called "The Vedala" or "Vedala", and was said to have "an immensely forceful, soft, feminine contralto."

In 2261, while piloting an unidentified Stamets-type shuttlecraft during a mission to Kenfori, Dr. Joseph M'Benga reminded Captain Christopher Pike of an instance where the two of them had smoked Vedalan cigars. Pike then commented that "those Vedalans knew how to throw a party". (SNW: "Shuttle to Kenfori")
