Re: image fairuse and image paramount

Hello Jörg. I'd like to use the photos you recently uploaded to Memory Alpha to use with the Wormhole relay station article (especially that graphic with Sisko in front). However, before I am able to do so, I need to know the copyright of the images you have uploaded. If you created those images from the screenshot can you add the following template to the image description page: {{image fairuse}}. This should give you:

{{image fairuse|owner=N/A}}

If, however, they're not screenshots and you obtained it from the Star trek website, then instead of adding, {{image fairuse}}, please add {{image paramount}}. If it's from an external website, can you scour his website to find out what the copyrights are?

Thanks for contributing the images.--Oshah 16:18, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hi Oshah! I just added

{{image paramount}}

to all the image description pages. Hope that's OK as well, as I took the screenshots this afternoon. lad to help! :-)--Jörg 16:25, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Actually I think you were right first time, that image paramount is more appropriate! The text of image paramount says {{image paramount}} Ie. it already includes the fair use clause. And since it makes it clear who the copyright holder is, it's more suitable for screenshots.

Like I said, I am not clear on which template IS correct. It might be something you can raise in the forums or Ten Forward

Sorry to cut in, but just so it is known {{image paramount}} is for all screenshots, and pictures owned by Paramount. {{image fairuse}} is usually for images such as rank pips, species emblems, and art created by fans. Also, images from real life (which we prefer not to use 9 times out of 10...) - AJHalliwell 17:06, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)
OK, thank you guys! As I'll mostly upload screenshots from Star trek episodes, I shall use {{image paramount}} from now on.--Jörg 17:10, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Cardassian scientists

Hi, thanks for the screenshot but I was wondering if there was one screenshot were all three scientist were visible. If memory serves me correctly they were sitting/standing at a desk at the time. -- Q 13:00, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the new screenshot. This one looks better with respect to the article despite not all of them are looking in the camera, but that is no problem. Just a tip, when you are replacing an image, give it the same name. That way you don't have to alter the article the image is used in and it won't cluter MA with unused images. If you don't use images any more you can asked to have them removed on the Memory Alpha:Files for deletion page. -- Q 13:31, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)
No thanks, please check also the page Memory Alpha:Image use policy for the naming convention on images. Using incremental numbers in a image name to differentiate between them is not the easiest and clearest way. Have fun on MA. -- Q 14:05, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Wow, as I'm sure other users agree, your image contributions are impressive! Just wondering, do you have like, all of the dvds? Or all the episodes on your computer? - AJHalliwell 23:51, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • omg, I didn't even notice the alphabetical order. That many pictures is like, blowing my mind... I don't suppose you could get a few caps ahead of time, as a favor :-) Talk:Benzite, It'd be nice to see if there really were benzites in "Broken Bow, Part I", "Honor Among Thieves", or "Field of Fire"... - AJHalliwell 00:33, 19 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Great job with the images! You've just made a few of my pages look a lot better. Thanks! -Platypus Man 15:26, 21 Sep 2005 (EDT)

  • Just want to chime in with my many thanks for uploading and adding the weapons locker screencaps. They look great! Now if I could only think of some more info to add... - Intricated 22:16, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Pic names

Don't put apostrophes in them because it's impossible to upload a new version since backslash isnt permitted on Windows. Which doesnt seem to be an issue here but just in case something happens. Ben Sisqo 20:19, 20 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Oh and nice work. :o) Ben Sisqo 20:20, 20 Sep 2005 (EDT)

  • That's from the face it uses PHP/MySQL and in both cases a baclslash indicates it's not part of the code. Apostrophes are used as quotes in the way you'd use quotes within a quote. Like this: "We're going to read 'The Emperor's New Clothes' today," said Keiko. You interpret the sentence right, but for a computer it would be: "We're going to read 'The Emperor\'s New Clothes' today," Keiko said. That might not make sense but the long and short of it is that apostrophes are bad. Ben Sisqo 20:34, 20 Sep 2005 (EDT)

BTW do you know why it says we made our other comments 4 hours ago? Unless time flew by REALLY fast... Wait, now it changed its mind. What!!! Ben Sisqo 20:53, 20 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Hey, this is just a minor thing, but if you could use the left side of articles less it'd be appreciated. Nothing official, just generally how our formats have been, thanks. - AJHalliwell 16:39, 21 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Uploading pictures...

How is it that you can upload pictures so easily? I've been trying now for the past two days, and its not been working. I was going to upload that image of the IKS B'Moth, but I guess you've already got it! What do you do thats different from what I do? Zsingaya Talk 17:27, 21 Sep 2005 (EDT)

You really are doing some amazing work. I'm loving the way you've expanded a lot of the animal pages. Don't suppose you know of a trek reference to lizard or eel so we can rescue them from disambig? :, Jaf 23:54, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)Jaf

Haha, you have no idea how much that rocks. If you can find a trek reference to Crocodile, excluding, Trellan crocodile or Alligator I may just declare you king. (I did a lot of these animal pages a while back and ran into things I couldn't find that I wanted to really make a neat looking taxonomy) Jaf 00:45, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)Jaf

Jörg, you can tell by the comments on this page how much MA appreciates your great pics. But we're beginning to have problems on the "Image gallery" pages, ie: Fish, Dog, Egg, Bird. I'm not trying to be disrespectful in anyway, but if you could put certain images on their pages only, it would be appreciated. As said in Talk:Fish, MA policy says no page can be an image gallery, and that certain pics (IE: Livingston) can be on Livingston's page without being on the fish page. Feel free to continue uploading pics, but please don't necessarily put them on every page that references them. - AJHalliwell 18:43, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • Hey, when uploading images such as: File:Kar\'takin, To the death.jpg, or any other filenames containing an apostrophe, could you possibly remove said apostrophe from the name so as to name the file "File:Kartakin, To the death.jpg". Unfortunately when one uploads a file to M/A with an apostrophe, it automatically adds the backslash (\) to the filename, which makes it impossible to save over, if the need to save over the file is ever necessary. (You may have noticed I just attempted to do that with "File:O\'Brien wotw.jpg", but I couldn't so I just deleted it and had to rename it altogether.) Anyway, just something to keep in mind when uploading files in the future. Thanks! Keep up the great work! --Alan del Beccio 21:34, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Do you have any good shots that could be used for Occupation of Bajor? I have some at User:Schrei/sandbox and a couple that are on the Occupation page, but it's hard to find clear pictures as you can see. Maybe there was some footage in the TNG episodes? I haven't seen TNG. --Schrei 20:10, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I'm going to list the ones that could be useful (they can always be used for something else or deleted in case I don't use them). I really appreciate your help.

  • Ore processing center - Definitely.
  • Cardassia IV labor camp - Unless it's the same as the pic on labor camp.
  • Crell Moset's lab
  • Promenade shots - Anything not already on my sandbox page
  • The Circle - Both the logo (if it's better than the one on Alliance for Global Unity) and Quark's branding.
  • Shakaar Edon's farm
  • Dukat and Meru
  • Gallitep
  • Weapons scanners from Terok Nor

Thanks again. :) --Schrei 04:03, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • I don't think I need to tell you how great an asset you are to MA. You're definitely our most valuable contributor. I'm only on for a little while right now, but I'll put these to good use later. Thanks, and keep up the good work! --Schrei 11:09, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Just another minor reminder, if you could combine pictures at little as possible, it would be appreciated. Cause then the pictures can only be used on one page (ie: Tennis) where as a pic without the ball might also be used on the "Suspicions" page, or Beverly crusher or something. Not that it's a big problem, just that I've noticed you've done it several times, such as with some unnamed aliens, golf, and some bird pictures I believe. - AJHalliwell 23:00, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Borg drone

Hey, Borg drone could use a better pic. I'm thinking a full body shot of a drone would be best, personaly I think the holo borg from borg class on Endgame would be a good one, don't suppose you have it about? Jaf 12:55, 15 Oct 2005 (UTC)Jaf

Featured article!?

Someone nominated your userpage to be featured! Retarded but funny and flattering in a weird way considering what he said about you. :o) Ben Sisqo 09:04, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Ferengi pictures

Hey Jorg (sorry I can't put the dots over your o); I was the one who put up the recent requests for some pics of the Divine Treasury, etc on DS9. And since you took the requests off the page I'm guessing you either uploaded them or know where the pics are. Could you provide me with the locations? Here or on my user page, either way. Thanks. You're a screen-capture machine. Logan 5 03:21, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Musical Instruments

Having just browsed musical instruments, I dont think it would be out of line to create an article based on the generic name of the instrument for the image (and to expand the database), such to create Trill piano, Klingon guitar (which is what the chef was playing according to the script) and so on. Nearly the same could be said with the other instruments played by specific people, Mavig's harp (based on description from Star Trek Concordance), Katie's instrument --> more accurately named under the "Aldean" race (ex Aldean instrument). Then you can throw around comparisions between articles and so forth, and in the end, musical instruments can be restored as a list, with all of the instruments pictured given their own home on their own page. It is 2am here, right now, and I, unfortunately don't have the time to finish it if I start, and I am the type who has to finish what they start in one fell swoop, so if I get a chance tomorrow, I can do it -- as it seems imminent that you have more instruments yet to post, I figured I could cut you off at the pass. ;) --Alan del Beccio 06:05, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Why did you remove my image request without explanation? --Defiant | Talk 23:36, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I now understand that you already uploaded an image of an NX class sickbay, so thanks for that! But don't forgot to write in the summary box (for image requests, you might want to explain that the requested picture has been added). --Defiant | Talk 23:42, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Prospero Image

You recently uploaded a pictures of Data as Prospero (here), but there already is an image here. You're image is better, but the name of the other one is more descriptive, so you might want to reupload the image onto Data as Prospero, and then maybe delete your image. Just a suggestion.--Tim Thomason 16:13, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Nechani Magistrate

Good work with the uploaded pics. But I just though I'd point out there's already a pic of the Magistrate. (Check out Harry Groener's page). --T smitts 21:10, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Caatati pic

Given the confusion seem to be having with this image (File:Caatati Rahmin Day of Honor.jpg), perhaps it would be simplest to have the mods delete it and re-upload the image titled as Lumas. What do you think? --T smitts 01:56, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

In case I didn't say so before, thanks for the pics you've been uploading these days. I couldn't have completed most of the actor's tables I've done recently without them. --T smitts 00:19, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Shuttlepod 2

Is the list of appearances for Shuttlepod 2 complete? --Defiant | Talk 17:39, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Where is Shuttlepod 2 in "Sleeping Dogs"? All I can see is a minor appearance of the shuttlepod in the launch bay. Later, Archer takes a shuttlepod down through the atmosphere of the gas giant, but the shuttlepod's name is hardly readable. I don't know if it's Shuttlepod 1 or 2. Why have you listed the second shuttlepod as appearing in that episode? How did you make up the list? --Defiant | Talk 18:56, 8 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Kolopak images

Is File:Kolopak, Basics I.jpg a different actor than File:Kolopak, Tattoo.jpg? If it is, then I was going to include it in the article, but I'm not sure about it. If its not, I was going to put it up at images for deletion as a superflous image. Just checking! — THOR =/\= 20:15, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Your assistance

I've got a couple of requests, as I thought of a couple of things around here that could use your expertise. Species list need to be compiled of background aliens for: those hooked up to the Automated repair station, the Tsunkatse audience members and the representatives of the Trade Agreements Conference. Also, I put the Borg species list together, but I was wondering if you knew of any in Seven of Nine's guilt-hallucinations in "Infinite Regress" that I might be missing. Thanks Jaf 13:51, 24 Oct 2005 (UTC)Jaf

    • Actually there are a few places this kind of species listing could be done, The Void and Quarra come to mind. (I am just suggesting this to you, please don't feel obligated) Jaf 19:02, 4 Nov 2005 (UTC)Jaf

I've started most of these lists, at Automated repair station, Tsunkatse, Trade Agreements Conference. Would you mind having a look to see if I missed any? Also, can you identify the alien in the starfleet engineering getup in the background when Chakotay first meets Valerie Archer in "In the Flesh"? Jaf 23:15, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Jaf

    • The unnamed aliens can be linked back to the Unnamed humanoids (24th century) page, the way I did with Scaly Aliens at Borg species. I think there might even be a way to link to the subheading itself, but i'm not sure how to do that. Jaf 00:11, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Jaf

So we have evidence of a Pelian in Starfleet?! (Assuming Species 8472 has accurate info) Nice. I added the few you mentioned to Tsunkatse, but I am working from memory and do not have access to the episode, so what is there is what I remembered already. (I do most of my work under IP without logging in, in case you were wondering) Jaf 00:33, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Jaf

    • Unnamed species have been added to the Tsunkatse species list. I broke it into named and unnamed to make it work. I'm not sure what to do with the species that killed Ahni Jetal, as they don't seem to be listed anywhere on MA yet. In other news I started a list of Starfleet species in the style of what I did at Borg species. Jaf 01:36, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Jaf

I've started the list at The Void. Would you mind giving it a glace to see if you can remember any that I've forgotten? Jaf 22:44, 27 January 2006 (UTC)Jaf

  • Jorg I attempted to access the wiki this morning but have forgotten the pass word I used and told it to email me I have not received the email to either of the two accounts I would have used. This is my page http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/User_talk:Gary_Mintz Thank you for your help in this matter Jorg But I figured out the password --Gary Mintz 22:52, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Template use

Hi Jörg. I'm currently in the process of removing the manual indentation (the ":" in front of it) from the {{image star trek}} template links as used on image pages, because that indentation has been added to the template itself. In the future, could you please just use "{{image paramount}}" when uploading new images? Thanks. -- Cid Highwind 21:36, 27 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Wow, I just re-read your userpage, and I think you've got a pretty impressive collection there... There are still plenty of needed images on Memory Alpha:Requested pictures, and I'm sure there are plenty of others that need them that no-one's found yet. If you'd like, I can help with any TNG pictures, and movie ones. Zsingaya Talk 22:11, 27 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Any idea what type of ship this is? [1] Its from the ENT episode "Twilight", in Season 3. Its possibly a Yridian ship, but I don't know. BTW, the Robert April thing has been cleared up, so that should probably be taken off the requested images page. Zsingaya Talk 22:43, 27 Dec 2005 (UTC)

XXX's species

I would support making a species page for each species regardless of the number of appearances, however, this could be a split topic and the community could easily disagree with me. Jaf 22:50, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Jaf

TOS extras

Thanks for the note on those images! I'm excited to clarify the bulk of Ron Veto's appearances so we can settle some confusion with the time he was called "Harrison" or "Thule" -- If you wanted to upload them and give me a list of the images, i'd be happy to write the tags -- or if i could just look through them i'd upload thm myself -- however it works best for you! -- Captain Mike K. Howdy Jörg. I'm working on the Worf article, and I was wondering if you could dig up a shot including both Helena and Sergey Rozchenko in the same frame, from TNG "Family". I'd like to have the one pic for illustrating Worf's Early Life section. Thanks! --Aurelius Kirk 05:09, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

I just had a scary thought... Can you tell me more of the context surronding that PADD when Jake used it? Does the episode suggest that was actually text Jake had written, or was he just reading it for a reference or pleasure? "The Muse" script is inconclusive. If it implies that text was an excerpt from Anslem, it means either Jake is a plagarist, or I maybe I should revert my changes to Horatio Nelson/Horatio Hornblower.

I request your skills. Do you know if there are any non-starfleet Vulcans in the background of "The Visitor" or "Endgame" or any other episode taking place in the 25th century. Also, I'm curious of the species you noticed in the background in the bar on Ronara Prime in "Preemptive Strike". Thanks. Jaf 13:31, 28 February 2006 (UTC)Jaf

resource policy and talk:USS Chekov

Hey Jörg, on the subject of canon policy discussions and policy edits.. i was wondering if you could weigh in on the USS Chekov discussion. Someone suggested that, since the producers removed a mention of USS Chekhov from the script, all of a sudden USS Chekov article (about the ship labeled USS Chekov in that scene) should be deleted. I think this is a symptom of problems with the policy, or a misunderstanding of where the data ws sourced from. Bernd at http://ex-astris-scientia.org worked with this site's own founders to interview Michael Okuda and get this info, i think its simply too valuable to throw away because of confusing language added to our policies recently... in short, this info is as real as it gets for our Wolf 359 shiplists -- why are people trying to tear them down? -- Captain M.K.B. 22:26, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Kelemane's species

Since you're the cool screenshot guy, I was wondering if you might be able to provide some pictures for some of the unnamed characters on the Kelemane's species page. There are 5 (I think) listed there, and if you can help fill them out that'd be fine, if not, no worries. -- Sulfur 00:10, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Dramatis Personae / Jeff Pruitt

It seems that this fellow, Jeff Pruitt, played a Bajoran Junior Officer (credited as "Ensign") in the episode "Dramatis Personae" on DS9, but the character isn't listed on any of the Bajoran character pages, so I have added him to the Unnamed Bajoran Militia personnel#Bajoran Junior Officer page, but I was hoping that you might have a picture of him to add onto there. And no, I'm not entirely certain which guy he is, but my best bet is that he's the Bajoran that is seen in the infirmary with Bashir, and then later tries to kill Sisko in Ops. The reason I say this is because that's the only credited Bajoran in the episode. :) -- Sulfur 14:20, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the help on the Merry Men, do you happen to have a good group shot for this page. F8street 17:17, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks again, the pic really helps. I'm not sure if I should create the Nottingham Castle page, I thought it might be one step too far away form the trek world. I thought I'd wait and see if someone else creates it, what do you think? -F8street 17:42, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Weird Gaps in articles

Since you are the "King of Pictures" here, I was wondering it gaps appear at the beginning of articles on your screen? It happens if the article begins after the image description like this:

"File:Kor2370.JPG|thumb|200px|Kor." Kor was a legendary Klingon...

Any idea why? -- When it rains... it pours 15:06, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Requested images

Hi Jörg. Thanks for the great images you uploaded (almost instantly!) after my request. Especially File:Trip and Reed in Shuttlepod 1.jpg is absolutely hilarious... :)

If you find the time - as you might have seen, I'm slowly updating the episode sidebars to a new format. I only went through ENT Season 1 yet, but I already found several episode articles that use "some" image, but not really a good one. I believe the image in the sidebar should be a small summary of the episode in itself, and the image you uploaded for "Shuttlepod One" does just that, while additionally being quite funny. Perhaps you could have a look at some of the other episodes (old or new sidebar) and see if you can find equally good ones? Thanks :) -- Cid Highwind 20:18, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Nice to hear... I started out to be a little faster than that, but of course my changes are not nearly as complex as yours seem to be. Good work, and I'll guess we'll meet somewhere in the middle ;) If there's a screenshot I need, I will let you know. -- Cid Highwind 21:50, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Another minor request... do you have a picture of just Paddi Edwards' version of Anya for her article? The only one I could find was the shot with all four aspects of her. Thanks. -- Sulfur 14:59, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
More actress requests. The Krämer twins (Jen and Megan Delaney) from Voyager ("Thirty Days" was the episode). Did they appear in the episode not dressed as the evil mistresses? If so, that would be good if possible. Thanks -- Sulfur 16:19, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I was afraid of that. Alas. Hrm. Maybe a colour picture of the two would be good. Question is, on File:Delaney sisters.jpg, they're listed as Jenny and Megan, and on all of the refs to it, the other way around. Do we know which is which, and if so, should we not make sure that all of the pictures at least match up? -- Sulfur 16:47, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

I originally put the references in chronological order by date of occurance (ie, the past tense episode took place in 2024 rather than in the DS9 timeframe, which is why it came before the ENT reference). Did you shift it down to fit it into the base date of the episode's timeframe (ie, DS9 post ENT, etc)? -- Sulfur 00:32, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Jörg. After your successful nomination, I just made you an admin on MA/en - Congratulations. :) If there are any questions, don't hesitate to ask. -- Cid Highwind 20:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Jörg. I noticed that you recently added a picture of me to my bio page on Memory Alpha. Is it possible I could convince you to use a more recent picture of me which can be found at: [2]. Word on the street (or subspace network) is that you are the person to go to with image requests. I have one:

Isolinear rod

This is such a commonly used and seen thing in DS9, I think it deserves its own good picture. We have one for Optolythic data rod, even though it is only seen once. I don't have any of the DVDs, or I would do it myself. Thanks in advance. --OuroborosCobra 08:30, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Unknown alien... again

Hello again. I noticed the image of the first alien listed on Unnamed USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) personnel, the one getting her hair done. I'm pretty sure I've seen the species before and I thought you would be the person to ask for the where and when. If we can find a character with this make-up and a name we will be on our way to a new unknown species page. Thanks. Jaf 12:14, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Jaf

Do you mind IDing another alien for me? I am wondering about the Terrellian's alien boxing coach seen earily in "The Fight"? Jaf 21:16, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Jaf

Another thought. I just finished making Torat's species and I was wondering, am I correct in thinking that the Kinboris, Morphinians and the Shivolians are all stated to be on the Markonian outpost but not shown? If this is the case it would mean that Torat's species could be one of those species and a note should be added to his species page to keep that possibility open. Jaf 15:43, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Jaf

Requested Images

I have noticed that many pictures have been input by you. I have created a few articles, that need images. If you have the time can you please include images. Unnamed Enolians: Enolian Offical and Guard. Unnamed Humanoids: Alien Dockmaster, Alien Merchant Butterfly Dancers, Alien Foreman, Alien Decon agents, Large Alien. Unnamed Humans: Receptionist (shockwave II), NOrth Star cowboys and stablehand Unnamed Suliban:Suliban soldier, Salvage commander

I know this is alot, and I hope I have not overstepped my bounds. Any images you provide will be helpful, thank you very much.

I am new to Memory Alpha, just opening an account a few weeks ago. As most of the major articles and characters have been written, I have concentrated on the lesser ones such as unnamed species. Although my sriting is adequate, I am not able to download images to many articles. I have noticed that many pictures have been added by you. Could you take a look at unnamed humanoids 22nd and 24th century, unnamed Xindi, unnamed humans 22nd century, U.S. law inforcements officers, unnamed suliban doctor, and unnamed cardassians officers on Deep Space Nine. I have worked on some of these articles, and I would appreciate any images you can add. I thank you. Noman

Image request #247 :)

Hi Jörg. There's a pna message (+comment on the talk page) regarding this image: File:Enterprise-d medical tech, tarik ergin.jpg. I guess if someone can solve that, it's you. So, if you find the time, could you check the comment and either upload a better version or just remove the message? Thanks. -- Cid Highwind 14:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Response from user:

The article was written by user: I requested pictures for various articles I came across because I hate articles without faces. The worshipper was added by someone named Jaz on May 11,2006. Jaz also wrote article on Nikita Ager saying she played a worshipper. I will watch the episode and see if I can find the worshipper, if not maybe it should be deleted. I don't believe I have the right to do so, since I have not opened an account and am new to memory alpha. If you could add any pictures that are requested on the requested image page, especially the ones for Enterprise it would be appreciated. Thanks User:

Minitakan Worshipper

I have watched the episode and the only other woman I saw besides Nuria and Oji was a woman listening to Liko talk about how he had seen the overseer called Picard. She was kneeling down but Picard was not in the scene. This took place when Troi and Riker in disguise entered into a Minitakn home. Maybe whorshipper should be deleted.

Got your message. I am new to Memory Alpha and I aprreciate the tip on how to request pictures. I will follow the guidelines you have pointed out. Thanks again. (Noman 01:27, 13 August 2006 (UTC))

Federation Flag

Hola Jorg! I have a question. I've taken the image of the Flag of the Federation that Shisma created and modified it by capitalizing "of;" I've also experimented with two different shades of blue for it. Anyway, I wanted Shisma's permission to upload one of these altered versions of his flag rendering to the Non-Canon Star Trek Wiki, but, alas I don't speak German -- and I wanted to make sure that you and Shisma weren't the same users under different names for different languages! Anyway, Shisma will certainly get credit for the original image one way or the other. Many thanks! -- Sci 04:07 22 AUG 2006 UTC

I am not user I had a user # previously before I opened an account a few months ago. I have noticed that this user is enhanceing some character articles, which I think is a good idea. Since there is not many new character articles to write, I myself have started to enhance some articles, such as Ba'el. Is this permissable in Memory Alpha? --Noman 06:21, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Nice work on all the timestream images, Jörg! I corrected a few of the captions for you. One question, though... should the lightning image be in the montage twice? Sorry about the rollback...

Usually we shouldn't use rollback on non-vandalism edits, and I apologize for using it here, but I was having trouble loading the site due to the error it was causing and wanted to revert it fast (after I tested it locally and found the problem was the "window.location = window.location.hash;". --Splarka (talk) 06:57, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

What sort of software do you use/recommend for screencaps? -- StAkAr Karnak 12:19, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

I have always used PowerDVD to take my screenshots and then, before uploading them to MA, do some trimming, because sometimes you get black borders at the left and right sides of the screencap, which doesn't look good of course. I am currently using PowerDVD Version 4.0. I heard some stuff that later versions don't allow you to specify a folder where screenshots will be put as soon as they are made, that's why I won't upgrade. There might be better programs around but I'm just used to this one and haven't any troubles with the screencaps so this is what I can recommend. --Jörg 12:51, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

You created two eel pages, and I would like to point out in both instances you referred to them as "alien variations of an Earth animal" which makes little sense. They are not variations of eels, but entirely different creatures with physical similarities enough to make us relate them linguistically... boy what a nitpicker I am. Anyway, I would just like to point that out.--The Rev 19:38, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I guess when I wrote the articles, I was just looking for an introductory sentence and those first sentences were what came to mind. But you are right, those animals don't have to be varieties of the Earth eel, they could just be similarly looking or named. I guess it was easier with bats, for example. There you could simply write "XXX is a small mammal native to YYY", though we don't know if those bats are mammals as well, just as much speculation. I would say just go ahead and make the first sentence more ambiguous, as long as the word eel is linked somewhere in the article it should be just fine. --Jörg 20:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Gallitep survivors image

I am quite sure that the screencap of Gallitep survivors is from "Duet" (i've just seen the episode) not "The Collaborator". --

The image in question is File:Gallitep survivors.jpg (I'm telling you since it might be hard to remember some random image you uploaded and cited more than a year ago). The anon is correct. --OuroborosCobra talk 12:56, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Antares edit

I have the utmost respect for you and your work, but I felt obligated to edit the "Tribbles" reference you apparently added to Antares. I've been over that fight scene many, many times because of the old uniform. I am not convinced that the badge is from the Antares, but I do wonder if Christopher Pike was taking in the sights at K-7 (or Lieutenant DePaul). --GNDN 05:13, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Thomas Riker screencaps

Hi there, I am looking for better quality screencaps of Thomas Riker to replace the three images currently on his article. I am trying to get the article to Featured Article status, but there have been concerns with the image quality - they are rather grainy, poor quality as is. If you could get better caps and replace the current images, I would be forever in your debt! And I'd love any comments you could have on Alpha:Nominations for featured articles#Thomas Riker Thomas' FA nomination page! ;) -Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa 15:28, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks again for all your help, I've put the better quality images up at the Thomas Riker article, and will eventually work on the "Second Chances" additions. Hey Jorg, Wikia's support for SVG has greatly improved and I think it is time to start using SVG instead of PNG for logo drawings. It was because of the poor support that we used PNG originally. SVG is just so much better than PNG for this type of thing because it contains all the detail even the smallest text. Anyway, it would be cool if you would upload the SVGs of these logos, and use SVG in the future. It's also great to see a gallery of them on your user page. Very nice work. Much better than anything I've done in thsi area. --Bp 21:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Ken Lesco and Nora Leonhardt

Hey Jörg ! ;o] Where did you find Ken Lesco in these early TNG episodes ? I found a security officer who looks a little bit like him , but is definitly not him! (The one in the turbolift). Do you have a picture of Nora Leonhardt in an early appearance ? I've searched for her but cannot find her ? Thanks – Tom 15:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't sure but assumed the guy who appears in "Encounter at Farpoint" in the turbolift behind Q's forcefield was him, because they looked similar. But I was starting to wonder why they used a stuntman in scenes where no stunt was required...
I was able to identify Nora Leonhardt by means of an early Star Trek TNG Magazine I recently got. --Jörg 16:23, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

It's not Ken Lesco, I'm sure. I've contacted Nora Leonhardt and she wrote back , she said she was a regular extra for all seven years on TNG. Perhaps you can tell me which magazine or can send me a pic (do you have a scanner?) ;o] I know some more names of regular extras , but have to find them first on screen and then add them here. – Tom 17:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

The pic can be seen in volume 3 of the TNG Magazine from 1988. I'll try to get a scan for you later. --Jörg 17:32, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

DVD Audio Commenatry Deleted Link

You recently removed a link to a commentary placed on the Special Edition DVD page for Insurrection. I am curious to know if you listened to it before you removed it? Your comment about "anyone could add their own podcast" - there is a certain amount of validity in my commentaries for the TNG movies around the same amount as the interviews I conduct with the Star Trek Production staff. Although I understand that "everyone can't add their own podcast / opinion" there are probably commentaries that people would like linked to. I think you should discuss with the other admins here at MA and actually listen to them before you delete the link. I am not trying to insight problems, but Wikipedia style editing doesn't go down well with me. Thanks. --SebastianProoth 07:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Jörg, I see that you are having difficulty with this user with regards with trying to "expand" the Vorta and Ferengi characters using his short stories. PS: Where have you been? We haven't seen you on IRC in ages. Are classes getting in the way of your mandatory Memory Alpha time? Bloody schooling... it's so overrated. :P --From Andoria with Love 03:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey Shran! Thanks for letting me know, just wrote an e-mail to Guy. Really cool that this page is on the front page as well! :-)
Yes, I have been very busy with school, close to no time left for other things. I'll join the chat later tonight, once I returned home, gotta head off now, to school, where else ;-) --Jörg 06:08, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Fleet Ops Center directory

Hey, Jorg. I thought I'd let you know that I went ahead and put together a table for one of the directories from "Demons"; you can find it on my subpage here. The one I did is the one which I believe can be seen in the conference room where the Coalition of Planets talks were being held. I'll do the other one (the one with the cast member's names on it) later tomorrow (maybe ;)). In the meantime, the first one's done, so you can just copy and paste it if you decide to work on a page for the Fleet Ops Center or whatever. Enjoy. :) --From Andoria with Love 03:38, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I realized that the only real difference between the two directories is the addition of a few names, so I went ahead and did the table for the second directory, as well. So, now you have both of 'em. :) --From Andoria with Love 04:09, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Globe Illustrated

Hey. Thanks for informing me about the article. I just made a redirect out of my own entry. Picard(o) 12:59, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Fleet Ops Directory moved

Hey, Jorg. Just letting you know I've moved the Fleet Ops directory to their own subpage, User:Shran/Fleet Ops. What should we do with these anyway? Can we move them to their own page in the MA namespace? Have you been able to find/confirm the third plaque yet? Where were you on the night of July 15th? What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? DON'T WAIT FOR THE TRANSLATION, ANSWER ME NOW! :P --From Andoria with Love 16:35, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, I guess we can just create article for all those names (...). I haven't done more research concerning the plaques, because much is not visible on screen anway, you can only go by the blanks between the lines. All we know is, that the two plaques we got close-ups of, were seen, so everything seen on them is canon, and somebody will have to create those articles one of these days (read: not me!) ;-) --Jörg 16:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Roger that. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and move the plaques/lists to their own page at Fleet Operations Center. :) --From Andoria with Love 04:40, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

My Writing Style

I wax too poetic?– The Head of the Obsidian Order 15:01, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes. This is an encyclopedia and, as can be seen by the quotes I included on the talk page, the language wasn't right for the kind of summary required for MA articles. The summary should idually only describe the plot of the episode in a formal tone, without too much an emotional and personal touch. As I said, the summaries read like novelizations, they should be much more formal and impersonal. --Jörg 15:07, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

OK.– The Head of the Obsidian Order 15:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

"Nothing Human"

I have rewritten the summary. I believe that I have struck a balance between encyclopedic reporting and storytelling. I hope I have, because I cannot sit and right a plain account; there is simply too much material to write a comprehensive short summary in my opinion. Please let me know if what I hav e done here is better. I shall fix the "Scientific Method" summary to suit what you have told me.

Danke.– The Head of the Obsidian Order 16:48, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that reads much better. It's still a little too novel-like, for my taste, but as I said, it's just my taste and this is a community project. Great that you'll work on the "Scientific Method" again as well, that should stop anons from adding further comments like on that episode's talk page ;-) Best! --Jörg 17:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

"Scientific Method"

I have made some changes to the narrative to bring it to the balance between Encyclopedic reporting and storytelling that I have done in "Nothing Human". I have removed the phrases you cited in the article's talk page, and replaced them with more dispassionate narrative. Please understand my intent: I try to make the summary interesting and entertaining as well as informative. I think people want to have fun as they read an episode summary as well as to see what the episode is about. Therefore my summaries are full-spoiler (if one does not want to know what happens in the episode then one should not read any summary about it in the first place) and I do include some dramatic elements. But I understand your point: this is an encyclopedia and so the drama must not consume the summary. I shall try to maintain the necessary balance Please read "Scientific Method" and let me know what you think.

Danke. – The Head of the Obsidian Order 04:22, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes, much better. --Jörg 20:53, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Jörg and Cid (Eugene's Limit article)

Jörg, I appreciate your candor about your feelings regarding this term, Eugene's Limit. And, just as you surely have for a time, I've watched and followed Star Trek for 29 years - since I was 5 years old. I realize this entire site is a tribute to Gene as is many other "acceptable" terms on this site. Jörg, I also appreciate any assistance you can give in terms of putting Cid's suggestion into motion, just as you supported in your last post. I am most grateful.

My effort to include this article at Memory Alpha was never intended to be a detrimental item to this site, and certainly did not, in my opinion, act in a disrespectful manner, that is unless it's now considered "disrespectful" to offer a valid debate. I accept the site admin's decision and the terms of your binding canon policy. As an accredited journalist, I certainly did not expect to be told simply to offer my works to a competing site, Memory Beta; in essence being told to, shall we say, take my opinions somewhere else. That's not professional and it's less than democratic or considerate, Jörg. I already indicated in my prior post that I'm willing to accept the decision based on site rules, and I certainly don't need your input as to what site's might accept my work.

Cid, thanks for your candid explanation about why my Eugene's Limit article must be modified and moved as per the site's binding canon policy. I also thank you for at least allowing some debate on the issue.

I am pleased that it will remain, albeit in a smaller capacity, on this site in a modified form, and in its full version form on the more recognized Wikipedia site. If you Google it, my Wikipedia article comes up, as does various additional documents on the subject, so aside from this particular site, the term will be and remain valid trek canon by the show's producers, creators (if you include Majel Barrett), and the fans. It's also my notion that other significant trek sites and forums, as well as other definition related sites, will accept this term as canon and such a notion will indeed be reflected in broad-based search engine results for the foreseeable future.

Thanks again for all your time, patience and considerations.

I have nothing to add, renegade54 explained the reason why I suggested Memory Beta perfectly. --Jörg 09:08, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Your Explanation about Sidebar images

OK. Thanks. Now I understand. It was looking to me like these two guys, Shran and Deevolution, were simply being childish, wanting to keep their images displayed and preventing others from changing them. Again, thanks for the explanation.– Watching... listening... 11:04, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

I hope I am not stepping on any toes here, but in keeping with the policy you informed me about character sidebar images being from their earliest and most recent appearance, I have been checking character sidebars and replacing images according to this policy as necessary.

Need Help

Hey. I tried to upload a jpeg picture (a screenshot), but when i've uploaded here it has no content. Any idea ? Thanks. – Tom 10:45, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Image update?

Can you find a good screenshot to replace this startrek.com image: File:Scottys memories.jpg at some point? Much appreciated. -- Sulfur 14:24, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

I uploaded the best screenshot of that scene. There's no good shot of him sitting at his post, so I uploaded one of him standing with the bottle and glass. --Jörg 14:36, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

That works... although, Wikia seems to be having image upload issues, so you may have to upload it again later. :( -- Sulfur 14:51, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey. I want to bring the redirect page "B. DeMonbreun" up for deletion, but the "deletion box" disappeared after the edit. This page is unused and I cannot imagine anyone would search for this name. Perhaps you can fix this? Thanks. – Tom 23:27, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I'm greatly impressed by the remarkable number of high-quality pictures you've uploaded. I was wondering what software you use to capture these pics. It would be a great help. Thanks.

Andrew Probert interview?

Hey, regarding your screenshot of Andrew Probert from the TOS season 2 extras, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of where that interview is on the DVD. I can't seem to find it...

Thanks. :D --Anelf3 09:07, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

It's from the last documentary on the DVD set called "Star Trek's favourite moments", though it's possible it wasn't included in the American DVD set (only as a Best Buy Bonus). --Jörg 09:25, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see... Thanks. --Anelf3 04:46, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Evolution and Creation are completely different things. There is no way that religion would have stopped by the time of Star Trek. There is no direct reference to the idea that no one is religious by the 24th century. There is no direct reference to everyone beleiving in the idea of evolution. I find it insulting that this site would have it stated as if the idea of evolution is some sort of fact. Stop removing my edits. It was a small edit at that. (PreatorDec. 2, 2008)

There is evidence of some people being religious, yes, no one is denying that. What you are suggesting however, is evidence that people do not believe in evolution as well. We have absolutely no evidence that I can think of to support that statement, and much to the contrary. You can't make up information just because we have not had the stated opinion of everyone on Earth just to say "not everyone believes in evolution". There is no claim on MA that everyone DOES believe in evolution either. We don't make either claim. Why? Because there is no evidence to back up either. If you find that insulting, than maybe this isn't the place for you. We are abiding by what information is present, not making loopholes because of omission. --OuroborosCobra talk 20:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I have nothing to add to what my fellow admins and contributors have stated on numerous talk pages this evening. In fact I had a good time watching Harry Potter 5 and the Simpsons movie with friends. --Jörg 00:30, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Reply In case the weeping-Klingon image talk page gets deleted

Jorg, I tried speaking to you in the chatroom but you didn't respond, so I had to respond here. There appears to be a blurry line between nitpicks that are and aren't allowed. You can think of any article where nits are allowed to stay, and examples of those so-called "nits." This image wasn't for any article though; it was for my own personal collection (and for others to see.) That was all it was going to be for.
Harry beaming me into the brig was unjustified (because like I said, this was not going on an article; just a subpage of my own,) and since you weren't present to communicate, I had to use the reverse-engineered counter-force-fielding technology that I scavenged from a Jem'Hadar soldier and embedded onto my clothes to walk through it and to this comm-panel. I have never met Harry before, he doesn't know me that well, and he appears to oppress more than you and the other admins I already know. If they thought that image deserved detainment, they would've detained me already. They know full well when to detain me better than Harry does. I can say they didn't think this image justified a detainment.
Moreover, you are an admin yourself, and you saw this image first. You would've detained me if you felt this truly deserved a confinement, but in this way, you prove that this did not justify detaining me. It was only going to be for my personal collection, so Harry jumped the gun, so to speak. --K. Shinohara 16:15, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

TMP alien pics

Picking up from where we left off in our discussion Tuesday, I found all but the Rigellians, Shamin, Kazarites, and K'normian in TMP. Just thought I would check with you to see if you had any better luck. I know they were filmed, I guess what it boils down to at this point is if the footage got cut or not, seeing as from what I read, the cutting room floor was the case for most of these, in terms of "close up". --05:46, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Harry chimed in on this. Seems that perhaps there are no appeareances of these afterall. --Alan del Beccio 15:33, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Flea video

Hi, I saw what you wrote on the forum and the idea to do a video illustrating the Photonic fleas sounds great to me. Do you know where can I find images / short video clips depicting them? Thx, JustinMason 11:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

No idea. I guess you'd have to grab the DVD and cut a short clip depicting that scene. A sequence of screenshots and any added text wouldn't do, just the short sequence from the episode without further editing and addition of material. Now, is that a copyright-vio? If so, we can forget about that whol endeavour. --Jörg 14:06, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

New image

Hi Jörg, I've uploaded a new image and used it on "The Way of the Warrior" page. I'd appreciate it if you could check it out for me when you get a chance. I've removed the borders that you mentioned and I re-did the aspect ratio to a 1:1.32 ratio, so I think it should be okay now, but if not, let me know. Thanks very much my friend. – Bertaut talk 21:21, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Yep, looks good now! I used to have similar problems when doing screencaps from the movies and Enterprise with PowerDVD, squeezed images and pixely screenshots. I got a new version and changed some settings and then it worked out fine. So, keep up the good work! --Jörg 22:25, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it was just a matter of tweaking a few setting myself. I've gone back and fixed the 15 or so images I've uploaded in the last week. So thanks for the advice, much appreciated – Bertaut talk 02:29, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey Jorg! I'm pretty sure I saw a Zakdorn in the episode ENT: "These Are the Voyages..." and just wanted your opinion before I added it to the list of appearances on the Zakdorn page. It's just after the teaser/opening when in Ten Forward the Zakdorn meanders across the screen for a couple seconds. Dedication Plaque

Why did you revert my edits on Dedication plaque. --From TrekkyStar Open Hailing Frequencies 20:48, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

I reverted that because what you wrote is practically true for every appearance of a dedication plaque. Only few plaques have been seen up close in the episodes or movies, most of the time you just notice a rectangle on the wall and that's it. It didn't make sense to include that note when all the other plaques weren't seen up close either. --Jörg 20:56, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

No problem. Just, when uploading images, try to remove the black borders on the left and right side before uploading them. Happens when you take screenshots, happens to me as well. Just cut them off before uploading an image to MA. Thanks for the nice words about my work on EAS, I'm currebtly working on some new stuff as well... :-) --Jörg 10:08, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey. No children in this case. All six + the one on DS9 were played by short statured performers. ;) – Tom 22:36, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

And is this something that needs to be added to the articles? We don't write "huge actor" on Tony Todd's or Tiny Ron's page, or "short actor" on Aron Eisenbergs. Or "German actor" on Reiner Schöne's page, or bald on Patrick Stewart's page, or gay on George Takei's page (you know where this is going). I find this an unnecessary qualifier here. --Jörg 22:48, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I see your point. Did not thought about this "side". Maybe it is important to note here to tell that she is no child actor? – Tom 22:55, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't see the need for that, we also don't write "child actor" on the various pages of actors who have appeared on Trek when they were under 18. I also don't see the need to write "Native American" actor on Joe Billingiere, for example. He's an actor, just like all the others, and appeared on Star Trek, that's what's important. I think that qualifier is unnecessary as well, as it does in no way influence his acting, we also wouldn't write "Texan actor" or "German actor" or "Latino actress" etc. --Jörg 23:02, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

JJ Abrams Interview

Hi Jorg, I'm on the Wikia Entertainment team and wanted to let you know about an upcoming interview between the memory-alpha community and JJ Abrams! People in the community can submit questions via talk page, Admins will determine the 10-20 best questions, we'll send the questions to Mr. Abrams, and he'll reply via email. This is a great opportunity to attract new readers and users to the wiki and should be alot of fun. More details are here: -- Karim (talk) 19:02, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Hello again. Congrats on getting nominated to select the best questions for the JJ Abrams interview. So here are the next steps: I'll create the question submission page and have it posted to Memory Alpha by Wednesday (Thursday at the latest). I'd like to accept questions from Thursday April 9 - Sunday April 19th. On Monday the 20th, you and Shran can pick your favorites and we'll compile them on a separate talk page. Once we pick the questions, I'll shoot 'em out to JJ's camp! Lemme know if you have any questions. Thanks - -- Karim (talk) 00:01, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
  • I am too! i'll be posting the submission page tomorrow and will ping you when i have it up. Once we open the doors for question submissions, it would be sweet if the event was promoted on the main page of MA. Feel free to contact me if you need help with anything or if you have questions. This should be a lot of fun :)-- Karim (talk) 00:38, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
  • OK, so I've posted the submission page: Memory Alpha:Ask J.J. Abrams. Lemme know if you have any feedback on it. If its in good shape, can you announce in the forum and promote on the home page? Thanks! -- Karim (talk) 18:22, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Hi Jorg, I finally received JJ Abrams's answers and have sent them to you via email. I'd love to get them up on MA as soon as we can. The Memory Alpha:Ask J.J. Abrams page looks like a great place to post. If you're away for some reason, I'll upload the interview and update the page. Lemme know if you have any questions. looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks! -- Karim (talk) 20:55, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
    • Thanks for helping me set the page up :) I think it's looking fantastic. Do you think you could promote the interview by writing a blurb at the top of the MA site notice? It would be great if we could notify the entire community that the interview's up. Posting it on the homepage somewhere could be very helpful as well. Thanks again! -- Karim (talk) 01:04, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Hi Jorg...So it took eons, but I've finally received the prizes for our JJ Abrams interview from Paramount!! The person who set it up from their end had been on vacation for the last month, which made it a bit of a challenge. BUT...I was able to get two (2) large Star Trek posters signed by JJ and the cast of the movie (these are super sweet!) and two (2) Star Trek USB cards! I also have a bunch of official Star Trek Movie trading cards that we could offer up to 3 runners up. So, out of the 20 people that had their questions submitted, we should run a drawing awarding 2 grand prize winners (posters), 2 second prize winners (USB), and 3 runners up (trading cards). I'd be more than happy to pick the winners at random. Let me know how you guys would like to execute this. Thanks, -- Karim (talk) 23:17, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Help recovering questions

Jörg, you removed the 3 questions I submitted to the JJ Abrams page, and I can understand the rules at work. My problem is that I cannot find the removals in the page history so as to recover the phrasing I used. I would like to pick my favorite question and re-submit it, but the questions are not in the history. Can you please get them to me? I would really appreciate it. I'm a new person on MA, and am still getting used to the admin overhead. I hope you can help. I'd definitely like to feel welcome here and recovering the questions I submitted would help... Jörg,am I crazy?--I recall a page with dedication plaques (not screen caps, but mostly the actual image files (in B&W or color) for a slew of starships, arranged in a vertical, scrolling order. It was either on MA or EAS, and I can't find it on either now. Was there one here at one time? --Bones4ever 06:44, 14 May 2009 (UTC)bones4ever / larry

Sorry, neither! I just found it (of course) at: http://www.lcarscom.net/plaques.htm

Background performers

I'm working on a new subpage for you (and others) that will contain captures of the prominent background performers that we don't have articles for, yet. I'm not including each and every one but mainly the ones that stick out. I'll be posting them here. — Morder 22:53, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Prize handout

Hey, Jorg! Been hoping to catch you on IRC, but haven't been able to yet. Anyway, as Karim stated above, the prizes for the J.J. interview thing have arrived and he's asking us how they should be given out. Could you take a look at my response here and leave a comment? Not sure if you had other ideas on how to distribute the prizes, but if you do, please post it there. Thanks, mate! :) --From Andoria with Love 01:24, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi Jorg! So, we randomly picked 7 winners from the original twenty question submitters and here they are:
  • First Place (Signed posters)
  1. JerryJoe216
  2. Bp
  • Second Tier Prize (USB Card)
  1. Henshin86
  2. Cid Highwind
  • Third Tier Prize (Trading Cards)
  1. Tim-Thomason
  2. Joshg
  3. Zidel333

I'm notifying the winners on their Talk Pages. If one of the winners does not claim his prize in the next 5 days, the names on the list will get bumped up and a new third tier prize winner will be picked. Thanks again for all your help on this. The event wouldn't have had any legs without your cooperation and support. Feel free to contact me for any reason. Thanks, -- Karim (talk) 20:11, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

D'Arsay archive

Question, do you have a source for the following: http://memory-alpha.org/index.php?title=D%27Arsay_archive&diff=prev&oldid=446126 ? --Alan 18:12, September 26, 2009 (UTC)

Well, no source (maybe I talked to Mike Okuda about this), just observations. Can you think of another possible candidate? --Jörg 15:28, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

Since you're the guy with the images: Do you have a shot of the Stargazer dedication plaque where it is readable? I'm just trying to find out if there was a reference to Bedford Falls on it, as implied by this bg note from "The Battle": ...Brent Spiner, as Data, walks through the Stargazer bridge and upon seeing the dedication plaque, reads it using an imitation of Jimmy Stewart's voice and then saying "For God's sakes Mary, they built this thing in Bedford Falls!". Any help you could give on this is appreciated.

Also, if you have a shot of Tomalak from "Future Imperfect", could you add it to the Holographic duplicate page? - Archduk3:talk 20:17, December 15, 2009 (UTC)

I've uploaded a Tomalak screenshot from "Future imperfect". The text on the dedication plaque in "The battle" is not legible, so we cannot find out, what was really written on the plaque. --Jörg 18:49, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
Doug Drexler titles a blog entry(X) with the line (but doesn't elaborate). The plaque says "Constitution class", but no plaque image found yet. Gorgeous images of the model in Picard's ready room though(X). Setacourse 20:14, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. :) I was afraid that there wasn't going to be a shot of the plaque. You would think someone would remember if it actually said Bedford Falls or if Spiner was just feeling silly that day; oh well. Thanks again for checking. - Archduk3:talk 00:50, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

You added info to Tritium from Galaxy's Child. A request was just added to Talk:Tritium as to where in the episode it appears. I'd like to second the query, as I couldn't find it in the transcript or skimming screencaps. Setacourse 03:43, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

I got your private message but you left before I came back. --bp 23:27, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Federation Members

Actually, my main question was as to whether or not the founding members of the federation are automatically granted a seat on the council. Is that correct? - Regards, Gaelen S.Talk Contribs 10:10, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, there. I just did a revision of the El-Aurian page, merging the information of the existing text into a more uniform structure, and added some severly lacking details, but you'be reversed the edit. I was just wondering why. I'm not going to keep reposting because I don't want to incite an edit war. Just curious as to your reasons. Impressive page, by the way.

Please reply on my page, -Keith. – Pyronixcore 06:21, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Lar from Dear Doctor

Hi Jorg,

I'm the actor who played Lar in the Dear Doctor episode. From what I've sussed out by visiting this website, I think it was you who uploaded my image. If so, thank you for caring enough to do so, but could you please do me the favor of deleting it?

I know it's a fair right issue and you've got the right to do what you did - and I'm sure I'm the only one in the world who cares - but please, can you take it down? And if you downloaded the other picture of me as well, can you take that down as well?

I was very proud to be on those shows, but they were a long time ago, and simply put, I look ridiculous in them and now because of the millions of fans checking out the start trek websites, those 2 images of me in all my silly make-up are the first and only photos that come up of me in a google image search. It's pretty embarrassing, as well as infuriating. Imagine if someone you didn't know, took a horrible picture of you and that was the only image of your face for everyone in the world to see on the internet?

Anyways...I hope you understand what I'm asking and why? Please, I never asked that these pictures of me be placed on the internet, so please take them down.

Hi Karl,

we are currently discussing your request on the Talk:Karl Wiedergott page. I'm sure we can find a solution that should please both you and the MA community. Feel free to leave any input on the page until we have come to a conclusion. --Jörg 22:05, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Image: vs File:

With one of the recent mediawiki updates, the "Image:" namespace is no longer used. Can you use "File:" when you're adding images to articles? Much thanks. -- sulfur 15:19, March 4, 2010 (UTC)

Happy Birthday, yesterday.

God damn, 30 though. Thats got to suck. ;) --bp 22:17, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the welcome, but

Hi Jorg.

Thanks for the welcome, even though I'm assuming it was automated, lol. I made a small edit to Q Who, after recently having watched the episode and wanting some background infor from here, adding a tiny bit of Guinan's closing dialogue in the episode, because I thought it was worth having.

As for joining the site, though, I will respectfully pass. I was a lightly active editor of Wikipedia at one point, but have had virtually every single edit I've ever made to it reverted, going back probably four years, so truthfully I'm fairly seriously burned out where wikis as an overall concept are concerned, and Wikipedia in particular. I was going to tell you my Wikipedia account name, but on second thoughts decided to refrain. No offense, but if you're anything like the majority I encountered on that site, I'd prefer to avoid you having any preconceptions about me.

I figure my edit to Q Who was sufficiently easily verifiable that it won't be reverted, but given my experiences with Wikipedia, I've learned not to make any assumptions in that regard.

I may (but probably won't) occasionally make anonymous edits, if I may retain that privelege, but truthfully I prefer to remain anonymous at this point. There is less drama that way, and if my name (even a pseudonym) isn't attached to them, if they haven't also cost me much time, that way I won't either know or care if they get reverted. 14:31, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Karl Wiedergott's photos...

I'm Karl Wiedergott. I see that you're the one - though I may be wrong - who was responsible for uploading 2 images of me onto this site.

I was wondering if you could drop me a line at semansonjames@yahoo.com?

I joined this site, specifically so I could discover who it was. As you may or may not assume, I'd like to discuss removing these 2 images of me.

I look forward to corresponding with you.

Nebula class#Studio models

Hello Jörg,

Loved what with you've done with the AMT/Ertl section of the Constitution class model section. You're quite the researcher, meant in the utmost respect and extremely appreciated. That being said, is there any way to discern when Sisco's Nebula-class prototype desktop model changed its 2-nacelle upperstructure (the Ed Miarecki prototype) to the one we know, i.e. the triangular sensor array? Quite frankly it's driving me crazy...And oh yah, when discovered make the edit and take the credit... --Sennim 23:44, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll look out for that, but I'm currently freeze-framing and fast-forwarding through TNG Season 4, so it will be some time until I get back to DS9. The appearance of the model in Maxwell's ready room in TNG: "The Wounded" could be added though. --Jörg 18:53, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe something for you?Tom 02:14, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

A big "thank you" and screen-cap request from DS9: Past Tense, Part I

Hello, Jörg!

First, I'd like to say I'm a big fan of yours and Bernd Schneider's work and have corresponded quite a bit with him on a variety of issues (especially linguistics and a little engineering: he's a fellow EE, though he's far more accomplished.). Your work on EAS and here has been invaluable, I've noticed. I'm a very, very sick guy (nearly died this past month and have been confined to bed since a major surgery last December.) I must access MA via a mobile device (iPod touch) from bed – or the hospital. So I'm very grateful for the work people such as you, Bernd, and the admins/editors at MA do, which makes my painful recovery more bearable. Many thanks! :)

Anyway, I am wondering if you can help me obtain a missing screencap.

On the in the Historical sub-section of the Luna article, the text ends with an out-of-context, one-sentence paragraph that mentions the Defiant flew by Luna in 2371 in DS9: "Past Tense, Part I". Sulfur and I agreed it'd be good to move the line to a caption of a screencap of the Defiant actually flying by Luna.

I'm sure you have a pic of that, but I don't know if you can spare the time to upload it. I'm a newbie to MA and the MediaWiki markup language, so I'm uncertain whether I'd even know how to properly place it on the page! (But I am sure I could enlist the help of another, such as Sulfur, to put the uploaded image on the page. You wouldn't have to bother with doing anything other than uploading it and letting me know its name.)

You could respond on my talk page, if you like. (Or not at all if you're too busy: Please don't feel obligated to even respond to my request!)

Thank you for your consideration. Keep up the great work at EAS and here, Jörg!

--Cepstrum (talk) 15:36, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Cepstrum. Thanks for the kind words! The shot in question can be found right at the start of the episode. Actually, the large image of the moon we have on the page at the moment is from that scene, the Defiant has simply been cropped out of the image. In that shot, the Defiant is really small next to the moon. As the ship flies toward the camera, the moon moves out of view. When the Defiant is close enough, less than 1/3 of the moon is still seen. That is why I think this shot is not that well suited for the article. --Jörg 16:05, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, Jörg, for the swift response. I should have checked the episode in question and that initial picture. Rats. Are you aware of any pics that show a ship flying past Luna? It'd be nice to replace the line with an image of a ship clearly showing both a ship and the moon. Maybe none exist.

Thanks again. --Cepstrum (talk) 14:19, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Drexler's images

A couple of things:

  1. The image you uploaded was already uploaded and in the gallery at the bottom of the article. I've deleted the duplicate now.
  2. The image you uploaded needs a proper citation and license. It's not a screenshot from the episode. Chances are good that it is not owned by Paramount.
  3. All of the other images Drexler uploaded need citations and licenses.

If these things are not satisfied, we will have to remove the images. Can you contact Mr. Drexler and sort the details out with him? -- sulfur 11:18, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

The image was no duplicate but rather a cropped version that focuses on his face and thus was more similar to the original version from the DVD interviews, that is why I chose to upload the image this morning, in the 5 minutes I had before I went to work. I will ask Doug about the origin of the photos, but I guess it's just pictures that he or his colleagues took back in the day. Is there are problem with uploading those images and what should the citation be? Doug has never uploaded anything to MA, that's why he didn't know about the proper way of doing so. --Jörg 16:09, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Yah -- I have no problem with production people uploading stuff and not knowing the rules that we must follow. In terms of the citations and licensing, all we really need is information about the actual sources and the licenses for use (ie, are they CC, CC by NC, copyright him for exclusive use here, public domain, etc.

The big issue we have had in the past with some image uploads is that person A uploads something, person B complains about image. Having a proper citation (ie source) and license limits the complaints. Bigtime! :) -- sulfur 16:28, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Doug just responded, all the images belong to him. --Jörg 18:05, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

I figured that -- the default license on MA is CC-by-NC, so if he wants to release them that way, that's fine by me, and I'm happy to update all of the images to suit. If he wants to hold the copyright on them, that's fine too. Can you just confirm that for me? Thanks Jorg. -- sulfur 18:20, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Let me quote Doug: "People can use 'em all they want." ;-) Thanks for sorting this out! --Jörg 18:59, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, I'll go with the standard CC license then (since that's the "default" assumption on uploads. I'll get them all sorted out this afternoon. Thanks for your help. -- sulfur 19:26, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Background photos of extras from Apocalypse Rising

I have 8 photos of 3 extras from "Apocalypse Rising". I know only one of them but they also include 3 makeup artists that worked on that episode. I think I'll upload them but I thought I'd mention it to you and see if you could probably do something more than just upload them. I have no idea where they'd be useful...and I should! :) (Cross posted from ThomasHL since you are also good at these photos) — Morder (talk) 02:59, December 3, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know, but this definitely is up Thomas' alley, I'm sure. ;-) --Jörg 15:46, December 3, 2010 (UTC)

Starship Deploy Status

Hey. Any new info about these lists? Tom 15:28, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

Please see Talk:Maschinenmensch. Thanks. Tom 16:07, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

A more appropriate place to continue our little chat -) I dunno yet which model to tackle next, take a little breather first and continue to tinker the ones I already done, That said, the Galaxy is screaming for a re-write and expansion, though I have very little on the 2-footer, thanks to Doug there is something to write about the NX class, The Scimitar comes to mind, thanks to John and finishing up on the Connie with the landing bay models is on my list. But beyond that the info is running dry...There is frustratingly little info on the Jein and Meininger physical models beyond the hero models as well as third and fourth season's ENT CGI models. So it seems I will become increasingly dependant on Doug's and John's blogs for further info...Well we'll see...Speaking of the Connie I've noticed that Leyton also had a model of her in his office, but could not make out if it is a refit or an original, could you check? And thanks for your input, take care...--Sennim 09:10, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry I replied so late, I had disregarded the "you have new messages" message because I thought it was just another wikia notification. But I see that you have tackled some new and old projects in the meantime. :-)

I agree, the Galaxy models seem like a great candidate, I think the model deserves an article of its own, too. Leyton has a Galaxy class model, a refit Connie, an Excelsior and another class model in his office, the type of the last model, however, is really hard to make out because it is only seen once, completely out of focus. My guess: Miranda class. There's plenty of information around about the Federation ships but very little about the alien ships, which I personally find much more interesting. There are also some more model-re-use articles for Ex Astris Scientia in the pipeline, but both Bernd and I haven't gotten around to finishing them. As to the other models, I guess we'll just have to bug Doug, John and Rick for some more information! ;-) --Jörg 13:43, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Jörg looking forward to reading those updates at Ex-Astris, always a treat !! I.ve left an appropiate note in the "Other Physical models" section of the connie article, could you repeat the same procedure as with the Excelsior?...And while I'm at it, could you scare up a screencap of a rear view of the Academy trainer craft it was fleetingly seen in "The First Duty" at Wesleys hearing about halfway the episode...and a screencap for the Qatai shuttle in "Natural Law"...In the VOY studio models section there were 5 or 6 pictures missing, I managed to get all of them, save that on...Darn...I'm starting to sound like a whining fanboy:):)...Oh and before I forget, Great job on catching that Shuttle listing !!--Sennim 14:20, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Can you contact me by email? (gaghyogi49atgmx.de) It's easier if I just send you some screenshots and you pick the one that suits the article best. --Jörg 14:57, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Remastered images

Hi Jörg, could you please add the "Remastered image" template, or one of the corresponding templates if appropriate, to any images from TNG, or TOS, that are from a "remastered" source, even if the image is just replacing an old one and doesn't show anything "different". Thanks. - Archduk3 22:45, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

Note. Update. Please use {{TOS-R}} or {{TNG-R}} instead. -- sulfur (talk) 10:21, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Are there changes to the USS Atlantis ("Conspiracy") page?

I think that the page for the USS Atlantis has been changed from its original appearance. I remember the captain being Capt. James (or Jim) Kirk and the registry as NCC-40567. I remember that there was an Excelsior-class starship on the page. Can you compare the two pages? Thanks. Throwback (talk) 22:40, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Took me a while to realize what you meant. ;-) No, I checked the DVD, it's the same page, only now we can see much better that it's "Jana Park" and not "Jim Kirk". All those communications logs are still the same as in 1988. The USS Atlantis page appears several times, one time with the Excelsior class diagram underneath. --Jörg (talk) 22:52, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Some questions:
  • 1.) Do you think the Atlantis is an Excelsior-class starship?
  • 2.) On TrekBBS, someone mentioned that they saw a USS Aleq and a USS Matte Fringe on the orders. Have you seen these names or something like it?
  • 3.) For the other ships, how close are you to getting a registry for them? I am talking about the Albert Einstein, the Elmer Fudd, the Ganymede, the Gremlin, the James Fennimore Cooper, the John F Kennedy (I think this one is NCC-45103), the Max Plank, the Mustang, the Robert Louis Stevenson, the Sherlock Holmes, the Ticonderoga, the Unicorn, and, finally, the White Sands (one poster thought they saw the registry NAR-8002 for this one)?
  • 4.) What is the issue with the Callisto registry? I didn't understand what you were saying.
  • 5.) By my count, we have added 25 new ships to the list of Federation ships. This doesn't include the two ships I named above, which I am not sure are there. I am looking forward to the episode "The Measure of a MAn" chart which lists 24 starships. Do you think we may have missed any from "Conspiracy", or were there ones that weren't legible?
I will be getting the set soon. I have a large screen tv. I wonder if this will make a difference in being able to read the orders. Thank you for all you have done, Jorg.Throwback (talk) 23:40, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

  • 1.) Possible, as the subject of the message is " Revised ship refit specs". We don't know, though, if those specs are for the USS Atlantis or for another Excelsior class ship the captain of the Atlantis might soon be transferring too or whose refit he's somehow involved in.
  • 2.) That poster was me. I will have to check with Mike Okuda what the other names might be. I'm pretty sure about Matte Fringe now, but the USS Aleq must be something else. I'm also the poster who wrote about the NAR registry of the White Sand. It's definitely "NAR" not "NCC" for just this one ship.
  • 3.) I haven't updated those pages yet because I cannot clearly make out the names of the captains. Again, I'd rather check with Mike Okuda first.
  • 4.) The registry cannot be seen clearly. It contains many blocky numbers, like 0/8/9/6. As the text is still pretty blurry, it is hard to make out if the registry is, say, 8896 or 9868 or 8098 or 8868...
  • 5.) There might be one more ship in "Conspiracy", I will have to look again. There are also a few starbases named, I left them out for the moment and just focused on the ships, though.

You should definitely get the set, it is simply amazing! I am watching the blu-rays on a large TV screen as well, that really helps to decipher those LCARS displays! :-) --Jörg (talk) 23:57, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for replying, Jorg. Throwback (talk) 02:11, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

Two ships with the same registry?

I am confused. Both the Puget Sound and the Elmer Fudd appear to have the same registry - NCC-85343. Is this correct?Throwback (talk) 10:32, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Taking into account how blurry the LCARS displays still are, it's possible that the registry is different. It's just as possible, though, that the same registry was used. --Jörg (talk) 10:35, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
I am beginning think that Michael Okuda was having Homeric nods as he finished these orders. (http://lexilogia.gr/forum/showthread.php?4363-Homeric-nod) The Minnow's registry is the same as the Tranquility Base.Throwback (talk) 11:02, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Four ships remaining - what are their registries?

I have been impressed with how you have been able to get information from those mission orders. It's will be a while before I get the set, so, I am sorry if I appear impatient, I would like to know what the registries are for the other four ships - the Unicorn, the Sherlock Holmes, and the two ships whose names you can't read. Again, thanks, Jorg.Throwback (talk) 00:19, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

I'd rather wait until we have screenshots of those and others can try their luck as well! --Jörg (talk) 11:03, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

It may be that MSD is not official, but the official studio model on which it is clear the shuttle. Since the Nebula-class saucers the same, it is logical that there be such a device. Unless otherwise stated, all the way up to a footnote deserves a mention for the sake of fairness. It would be nice to think about solutions, and wondered why something that is not good. -- 17:22, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

overwritten image

Great work (as always) with the images you've uploaded, but you seem to have accidentally overwritten an image that shouldn't have been overwritten here. -- Capricorn (talk) 14:40, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for notifying me about this! I hope I have cleaned it up now! --Jörg (talk) 14:54, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to be fixed though. The problem is that the lcars display image replaces an image of a damaged USS Constellation, thus causing the display to pop up in places trying to show the damaged ship. -- Capricorn (talk) 18:58, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

I know, that's why I reverted that image to the previous image. But, apparently, it takes some time again for the old (and current) image to show up again. --Jörg (talk) 19:02, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Wells advertising controversy

To understand the Wells controversy you must have some understanding of the prior posters' knowledge and affiliation. If you'll look at those who put that information there you'll see they have no other contribs or edits other than that one page.

The management of Star Trek Online have been dropping hints about the Wells-class as an in-game item for sale, and are using the Memory Alpha site as a source to corroborate it when it's clear they themselves have supplied the information. PWE, the company that manages STO, has no integrity, as you can see from their BBB review; they routinely lie about what is or is not intentional (a quick browse of the Star Trek Online forums corroborates this).

STO frequently offers new ships for sale after long campaigns of dropping hints and stoking demand. The bit about antiproton weapons is not relevant to the class itself but is an allusion to what is generally regarded as the most powerful weapon type in Star Trek Online; you'll notice those same 1-2 posters with no other edits save to the bit about Wells and Star Trek Online, suggesting that indeed their intention is to publicize the supposed power of the ship in-game to sell stuff.

PWE is indeed attempting to use of the MA site as advertising, and this abuse shouldn't be permitted.

For the last remaining ships from "Conspiracy" - Sherlock Holmes, Unicorn, Nightwing - were you able to get screencaps for these ships? If so, do you have a time when you might add them to the articles? Thanks.Throwback (talk) 19:24, September 12, 2012 (UTC)

Conspiracy Ships 2

As our family has fallen into hard financial times, I won’t be able to purchase the Season 1 set. I am dependent on you for information on the “Conspiracy” ships and facilities. It’s been awhile since I last sent a message. I would like to know if you intend to post pics of the mission orders for these ships and bases:

USS ‘’Heart of Gold’’
USS “Minnow”
USS “Nightwing”
USS “Omaha Nebraska”
USS “Sherlock Holmes”
Starbase Trailer Twenty-Nine
USS “Unicorn”

Thank you, Throwback (talk) 08:31, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I only have screenshots of the "front page" of the messages, where only the name and registry of the ship and sender, addressee and subject are seen. Underneath that, the Starfleet arrowhead appears. Maybe you can find somebody ellse (aatrek?) who can upload the missing pages with the full body of the message. --Jörg (talk) 10:14, October 3, 2012 (UTC)
Well, it's better than nothing. If you are willing, can you add these screenshots to the pages? Thank you, Throwback (talk) 19:51, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Conspiracy Ships - Matching Image to Mission Order

There is this image -

An unnamed ship

. Do you know by chance which mission order this ship's image was attached to? I haven't seen it in the mission orders posted by you and Aatrek. Thanks, Throwback (talk) 15:29, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

It is seen on one of the three USS Atlantis pages, this one:

Edit War

I recently engaged in an edit war with user Pseudohuman. I would like to take the time to say I apologize. This user and I have butted heads over matters in the past, and it crossed the line this time. There are articles that need to be fixed- that I have corrupted unintentionally with good intentions -and I have left the burden to him. Thank you for interjecting, Throwback (talk) 08:01, October 30, 2012 (UTC)

Your thoughts?

This Ten Forward waiter from "Booby Trap" looks a lot like Guy Vardaman. What do you think? Tom (talk) 22:04, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

I sent Guy a message and will let you know what he has to say about the screenshot. --Jörg (talk) 08:54, November 11, 2012 (UTC)

Ever thought of doing a feature on Star Trek advertising? this image made me think about that. :) -- sulfur (talk) 20:59, November 28, 2012 (UTC)

Funny idea! :-) But I'm afraid I'll be busy writing the episode observations articles for EAS for at least the next few years... ;-) --Jörg (talk) 21:07, November 28, 2012 (UTC)

Cold Front item

Could you take a look at this discussion? Any ideas or info about this would be helpful. Thanks. - Archduk3 17:59, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

Wikia visit and coming stuff

Please take a look here and read things over, adding your comments at the bottom. -- sulfur (talk) 16:55, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Jorg, not sure if this is the right place to leave this request, but I am wondering if you could help me to identify whether or not some mugs a friend of mine has are actual show-used mugs, if they appeared on the show at all, etc...

I sure can try! Contact me at my usual address (check Ex Astris Scientia). --Jörg (talk) 21:53, February 3, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Jorg.

I have a question, what episode was the planet image of Cardassia prime shown in ?

Gazomg (talk) 04:53, June 7, 2014 (UTC) gazomg

It's from "DS9: "The Dogs of War". --Jörg (talk) 05:49, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

Hello, Joerg

Your Romulan insignia is oriented incorrectly. You need to flip it horizontally.

Here is a link to a site from the original designer of the insignia, Monte Thrasher. https://www.flickr.com/photos/montethrasher/sets/72157604064487714/ He has sketches from his original idea and copies of the official insignia by Mike Okuda.

Aside from your colors being flipped, the script at the top of the insignia is clearly flipped. According to Monte, the words mean "Take No Prisoners."

If you have not visited the individual pages there, they have interesting comments from Monte that you might find interesting.

Thank you for your good work.

Qwizards: Star Trek

Hey there! We're starting to get things ready for the Trek 50th Anniversary, and we're looking for fans of the franchise that might be interested in participating in a Star Trek-themed Qwizards, Wikia's original quiz show! As an active admin on this community, I was wondering if you had any interest in participating in Qwizards: Star Trek? If you're not sure what Qwizards is, this landing page will give you a bit more information. This would probably happen around August, so let me know what you think! Hey Jörg. Do you have any further information about this prop? It looks somehow familiar. Tom (talk) 08:51, July 5, 2015 (UTC)

Hi Tom! If you google "astroglobe" or "armillary sphere", you will find similar objects. The prop appears in Picard's ready room in several season 1, 2 and 3 episodes. You can get the best look at it in "The schizoid man" (Screenshot at trekcore.com). A smaller sphere within the larger one, with the continent of Africa clearly visible, can be seen well in this screenshot. --Jörg (talk) 09:15, July 5, 2015 (UTC)

Corvallen in Broken Bow

Hi Jörg, you once added the Corvallen to the references section of "Broken Bow". Did you identify them visually in a scene?Because they're not mentioned in dialogue. Kennelly (talk) 14:34, December 12, 2016 (UTC)

Handbook of Exobiology

Since you're the one that added the original info (back in 2006) and you generally know what you are talking about, maybe you could shed some light on this question that has cropped up. -- Capricorn (talk) 15:05, March 16, 2017 (UTC)

Nope, the cover is not visible in the episode, only on Geoff Mandel's homepage. --Jörg (talk) 08:21, March 18, 2017 (UTC)

Just to be clear, you're saying the info was from the cover? -- Capricorn (talk) 20:32, March 18, 2017 (UTC)

Yes, the names of the author and illustrator can only be seen on the cover of the book which itself can be seen here, but was not seen on screen in the episode: Archived version of Geoff Mandel's homepage --Jörg (talk) 08:29, March 19, 2017 (UTC)

Ok, thanks! -- Capricorn (talk) 19:09, March 19, 2017 (UTC)

Lethe and ketchup

There's a discussion going on @ Talk:Ketchup about how ketchup's in the reference list for the discovery episode lethe, but no one being sure where it was mentioned or seen in the episode. Since you added the reference, I was hoping you might remember why you did that and thus help resolve that discussion. -- Capricorn (talk) 07:42, February 9, 2018 (UTC)

Okudagrams from auction

Hi Jorg, I have been looking through your articles and images as I have recently obtained some original Okudagrams, including one you wrote a page about - the "aquatic lifeforms evolutionary table". Your prior research has saved me hours of trolling through episodes looking for a screen match, and I was wondering if you would like a clearer copy than the one you currently have on your page. Also, I was wondering if it was possible to send you photos of the 3 other okudagrams I have, to see if you might have a screen reference to them in your extensive archive. Regards --Trek phan (talk) 14:38, May 23, 2018 (UTC)

Hi Trek Phan! Aaah, you bought that cool graphic! I downloaded all the LCARS graphics from that auction and I don't know if we can upload an image of the original here, but thanks for the offer! Sure, send me the ones you need to be found and I'll try my best. Look for my e-mail address here [5] (click on my name at the top and you'll see the address). --Jörg (talk) 15:10, May 23, 2018 (UTC)
Those images can be uploaded (if properly cited, and only used at BG information). -- sulfur (talk) 15:18, May 23, 2018 (UTC)

Hey Jörg, long time no hear. Just a heads-up, I have solved one of Star Trek's minor mysteries...follow the links, and also see MU footnote 1;)--Sennim (talk) 15:56, October 16, 2018 (UTC)

Westminister Quarters

Hi, Jorg

What is the source for the Westminister Quarters, from "Remembrance"? Thanks.--Memphis77 (talk) 23:32, January 27, 2020 (UTC)

When Picard wakes up from his second dream, sleeping on his desk, he is woken by the clock on his mantelpiece, playing the Westminster Quarters. --Jörg (talk) 06:27, January 28, 2020 (UTC)
