Just a thought Edit

Though it is appreciated that you are using the edit summary for your contributions, but stating "adding appearance" and so forth, tends to kind of spoils it for others who are viewing recent changes and have not yet seen the episode. --Alan (talk) 01:30, March 1, 2019 (UTC)

I see your point. Any suggestions for an alternative summary? So far, I've thought of, "Updated appearances.", because it's not so clear. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 01:32, March 1, 2019 (UTC)

Perhaps just "lk" (link) or "+1" if adding to a list.--Alan (talk) 00:05, March 15, 2019 (UTC)

Seeing as this is the season finale could you please try to be a bit more discreet about this stuff. It's painfully obvious from your edits who and what is going to be seen after every episode 'airs' (a la "added appearance") and I (for one, and surely others) would like there to be a little mystique this time around on what's to come. thanks. --Alan (talk) 06:04, March 26, 2020 (UTC)

My apologies. I meant to keep mystery to surprise appearance, but was typing so fast that I forgot to change to "Updated appearances.". Roger Murtaugh (talk) 06:05, March 26, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll try to steer clear of the RC. --Alan (talk) 06:10, March 26, 2020 (UTC)

You're welcome. I truly do apologize. I'll go to simpler editing detail to be safe, just in case. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 06:11, March 26, 2020 (UTC)

Remastered images Edit

If you're uploading images from a HD source for TNG, please remember to change the citation from {{TNG|Episode}} to {{TNG-R|Episode}}. - Archduk3 18:52, February 27, 2020 (UTC)

My apologies. I meant to, but I was going to do it in bulk when I was done and it just slipped my mind. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 19:28, February 27, 2020 (UTC)

Portrait Edit images aren't necessarily better. Since the width is fixed, landscape style would actually be better to reduce the length of the sidebars on smaller pages, which is why it is encouraged. There are less people working on this and thousands of files though, so the de facto standard isn't the best practice. - Archduk3 16:08, March 21, 2020 (UTC)

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that. I usually see portrait-style, so I went with that. Are there any particular dimensions that I can try to make images to be more fitting? Should I continue portrait-style for pages that are more filled? Roger Murtaugh (talk) 19:05, March 21, 2020 (UTC)

Long pages are probably fine with portraits, but short pages should use a wider image. You could just rotate the portrait dimensions you're using 90° and see if that looks right. I've been going with shoulder width plus some. If we were actually going to standardize the image dimensions though, we would probably just end up with a square. - Archduk3 22:01, March 21, 2020 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Thank you for letting me know and for your help. I always try to edit in accordance to what is good for Memory Alpha, so it's good to know as much as I can, as I don't make any edits that upsets anyone. I appreciate it. Have a great day, good editing and one more episode of this season of Star Trek: Picard. I'm eager to see how it ends. 04:30, March 22, 2020 (UTC)
