Usman Ally is an actor who had a featured part as a section 31 operative aboard the USS Vengeance in Star Trek Into Darkness. He filmed his scenes between March 2012 and April 2012. [1]

Ally moved to the United States in 2000 and received a BA in Theatre and Sociology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and an MFA in Acting from the University of Florida. In 2010 he received the Theatre Communications Group/Fox Foundation Grant for Actors of Extraordinary Potential.

Prior to his work on Star Trek, Ally was featured in the short comedy The Group (2008), the action film Chicago Overcoat (2009, with Mike Starr and Danny Goldring), and an episode of The Chicago Code (2011). He had a recurring role as Nasim Marwat in four episodes of the drama series Damages (2011, with Derek Webster and Jack Gwaltney), a featured part in the thriller Contagion (2011, with Kara Zediker), and completed the short drama Our Fathers (2011) and the drama Just Like a Woman (2012). He also had a recurring role in the drama series Boss (2012), starring Kelsey Grammer.

In 2016, Ally played Vincent on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (also featuring Lorenzo Henrie), and in 2017 he portrayed the Hook-Handed Man in Netflix's adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (guest starring Alfre Woodard).

Beside his work on screen, Ally is also a stage actor and playwright and worked on plays such as "Around the World in 80 Days" at the Baltimore Centerstage and the Kansas City Rep, "Celebrity Row" at the American Theater Company, "Arabian Nights" at the Lookingglass Theater and Arena Stage, and "Three Sisters" at Steppenwolf Theater Company.
