The Vaankara was a Vulcan starship that was in service with the Vulcan High Command in the mid-22nd century.

This ship entered the Delphic Expanse in December 2152, searching for the Seleya. (ENT: "Impulse") Less than two days later, the Vulcan High Command received a distress call. Six hours after that, they received a transmission of the crew killing each other bare-handed. An hour later, the starship was destroyed; there was no evidence of a malfunction or an attack, leading the High Command to suspect that it self-destructed. (ENT: "The Expanse")

It was later discovered the crew had been driven insane by exposure to trellium-D, which had degraded their neural pathways. This served as a precedent for the crew of the Seleya. (ENT: "Impulse")

In reality, the concept of the Vaankara influenced the invention of the Seleya. (Star Trek: Communicator issue 151, p. 29)
The novelization of The Expanse states that the Vaankara made it through the thermobaric clouds surrounding the Delphic Expanse in six hours, indicating that the ship may have been capable of faster warp speeds than Enterprise NX-01.
