These Vulcan military officers were crewmembers of the Vaankara, which entered the Delphic Expanse on a rescue mission. They killed each other after going insane due to trellium-D exposure.
In attempt to warn the crew of Enterprise NX-01 what they'd be up against, Soval presented the visual recordings from aboard the Vaankara to T'Pol, Jonathan Archer, and Maxwell Forrest in 2153 shortly before Enterprise entered the Expanse. (ENT: "The Expanse")
