A videotape auto-adjusting the tracking
When playing a video tape, tracking was necessary when the image on the television set was of poor quality, which at times caused the image to blur, or jump around.
This tracking process began at the start of a commercial for Tribbles cereal. (ST: "The Trouble with Edward")
