A village was a type of rural settlement smaller than a town. The village square was the center of community life.
The Kelpiens lived in villages. As of 2257, there were 4,056 such villages on Kaminar. (DIS: "The Sounds of Thunder")
In 2369, when Doctor Julian Bashir arrived at a village on Bajor from which he had received a medical emergency message, he scanned the air, water, and soil but was not able to find any pollutants. (DS9: "The Storyteller")
A village is usually defined as being larger than a hamlet, which is an even smaller settlement.
