Von Braun was a Federation Type 7 shuttlecraft that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century, attached to the USS Enterprise-D. It was shuttlecraft number 04.
In early 2366, the Von Braun was listed on the shuttlebay operations display as being available for use in Hangar 3. (TNG: "Evolution", okudagram)
Two years later, the Von Braun was used to transport rescue crews to a damaged Romulan science ship. The Von Braun was delayed in leaving the Romulan ship, requiring Data and Worf in the shuttle Goddard to hold their approach. (TNG: "The Next Phase")
