Waverly R. Smothers worked as second grip in the camera and electrical department of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Beside his work on Star Tre, Smothers also worked on Cocoon (1985), Gung Ho (1986, with Richard Dow and Keith Peterman), Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987, with Richard Dow, Keith Peterman, and Murphy Wiltz), She's Having a Baby (1988), She's Out of Control (1989), Point Break (1991), Addams Family Values (1993, with Randy Nolen and Frank X. Valdez III), and Monk (2007-2009).
Waverly Smothers' name can be seen on a directory placard in the fifth season episode "Violations" listing Starbase 32's staff.
