William Denis is the actor who portrayed the character of Ki Mendrossen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "Sarek".

Denis, who has a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry, has appeared on such television shows as The Golden Girls, Newhart, and Perfect Strangers. A 1989 episode of Growing Pains had him playing a director on a television show on which a crewmember played by Carlos LaCamara worked. That same year, Denis appeared in two episodes of Just the Ten of Us, including one episode with Bill Erwin. In 1990, Denis guest-starred in an episode of the short-lived Gabriel's Fire, starring Madge Sinclair and also guest-starring Jack Kehler.

Outside of his work on episodic television, Denis had a role in the 1990 TV movie Daughter of the Streets, starring Harris Yulin. His only feature film credit – and his last known screen credit to date – is the 1995 crime drama Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead. Among his co-stars in this film were fellow Star Trek alumni Bill Bolender, Bill Cobbs, Bill Erwin, Willie Garson, Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr., Christopher Lloyd, Don Stark, and Deborah Strang.

Denis has also been active in the theater community in the Denver, Colorado region since the early '80s, performing in a number of professional stage productions through at least 2014.
