Yaan' was a location in the same area as Sol/Jupiter. Its companion was Oomaru.
In 2285, Yaan's position was displayed on a star chart on the bridge of the USS Enterprise. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)
This location was only mentioned in writing.
The image was taken from page T0:02:07:02 of the Star Fleet Technical Manual by Franz Joseph. The map claimed to depict principal stellar systems in the Federation. According to the scale, K'ushui was located slightly less than a parsec and a half from sol. According to the legend it was a binary with Oomaru.
