Yonada Prime was a prime planet in its star system, which was located near the Calder and Draken systems.
In the centuries before the 24th century, this planet was occupied by the Romulans. In 2370, this was one of several planets where the Romulan ruins were raided by a band of mercenaries led by Arctus Baran. The planet appeared on an archaeological data analysis star chart consulted on the USS Enterprise-D in 2370. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I")
This planet's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of neighboring systems, such as the Calder system and the Draken system, as seen in the star charts appearing in the Star Trek: Discovery episode "The War Without, The War Within" and the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
Yadalla Prime, which plays a larger role in the episode, was called Yonada Prime in early drafts of the episode, a reference to the worldship Yonada in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky". The name was changed in the script due to the need for Romulan origins for the planet. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, 2nd ed., p. 267) However, the original name was still mentioned in an okudagram seen in the episode. This graphic was put up for auction in 2018. [1]
