Yorif was a merchant and collector of rare items who lived during the later 24th century.
By the early 2380s Yorif captained a ship in the Beta Quadrant that housed his collection. He operated a latinum mine, and at one point slashed the wages of the miners he employed in order to afford a Veltan sex idol for his collection. He considered himself rich enough to have several fortunes to spare.
In 2382, Yorif was giving a tour of his collection to a Haliian woman when his ship was attacked by Orions. The "Haliian" then assaulted him and lowered his ship's defenses in aid to the attacking Orions, revealing herself to be D'Vana Tendi in disguise. Yorif drew a 23rd century phaser on her, but was injured in the hand by a dagger when L'Kar's boarding party arrived. Tendi convinced L'Kar to spare his life, though relented when Astrid wanted to steal Yarif's gold facial band. Yorif screamed in objection, claiming the band was "prescription." (LD: "Dos Cerritos")
